Question on Hearts of Iron 2

Could someone please tell me how to merge units that are in the same province? I don't want to merge them all with that universal "merge" command. Let's say I have 10 seperate land units and I want to put 4 of them in one army. How do I do that? I see a "create seperate army" button, but no "add to current army" button. And since the game doesn't let you build a seperate army starting with one unit, well you know...dumb, dumb, dumb GUI. Anyway, trying to get my units set-up right is driving me nuts. Great game, horrific unit management. Thanks for any help.

I think you just have to have both divisions selected by shift clicking or click dragging a box around them. Once you do that, I think a button shows up to merge the divisions.

Spot on. Locate the sprite/counter, drag a box around them and then shift click the ones you don't want to get rid of them. Then click the merge button. They do have to be in the same province though.

Starting a new army with one unit is a hell of a lot easier actually. For new units from the force pool, instead of clicking on an established army, just click on a province in the map window and a new army will be created. To create a new army starting with a division already in an army, use the split button.

I agree, pretty wierd GUI that took a while to get used to, but pretty intuitive when you know what to do.

This game seems interesting and I want to get it at some point. My question is: Is it being sold in stores or only online?

Thanks for the help guys. Once you know what to do, it's pretty simple. Although I still think having a "build army" button next to the split army button would make it a lot simpler.

Eagles, I bought mine at an EB yesterday.

Thanks for the info. The EB Games near my place said they didn't have it in stock, nor were they planning on getting it. However, it did show up in their computer. I imagine they would order it for me when I'm ready to buy it, if they don't just get it in their store.
