CHL Hockey: Shreveport vs Laredo Tonight!

Record crowd for the Shreveport/Bossier City Mudbugs vs. Laredo Bucks.

This is a grudge match from last years championship series. When, in Game #7 in Laredo the ref's (Laredo born and bred) took a goal away from the Mudbugs that would have given them the win (in OT) and then gave a goal to Laredo that never crossed the goal-line. Both calls were highly controversial and is the buzz in Shreveport tonight.

I'll be there for a possible attendance record of 10,000 plus fans...well...at least we still have some hockey.

EDIT: We had actually planned to go on Saturday, but that was "Turn Back Time" Night. All fans are encouraged to wear their Cher or Village People costumes in honor of their upcoming concert at the CenturyTel Center."

I hate the Mudbugs. They always want to fight. I did watch them play on New Years Eve though.

Well, they got in 2 fights. Dan Wildfong basically got pounded on by some huge Laredo player in the first one. But the Mudbugs are scrappy little guys and absolutely laid two guys out. The first guy didn't get up until the trainers came over and got him.

But we were down 3-1 with 8 minutes to go. Then 3-2 with 6 minutes to go. 3-3 with 2 minutes to go. And GW goal with 20 seconds left.

What a game!!!

I miss having a local WPHL team, and no, the FW Brahmas don't count...

I hate Laredo. Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees is my local team, and Laredo whooped up on us last year, and their damn fans cheered up a storm in our Arena. Damn traveling fans. I have not been able to go to a game this year, but the Bees are not all that good this season so I guess I will live.
