Ultimate Heavyweight Boxing

Welcome to Ultimate Heavyweight Boxing!

Using OOTP's Title Bout Championship Boxing, I have taken all the heavyweight fighters and will be drawing them at random into my fictional universe. Like a young boxing federation starting out our size will be small, and gradually grow. The pool is 766 fighters big. So there will be some (many) fighters that noone has heard of. We will be crowning the UHB title. Fighters will age according to this model.

# of Fights Career Age
1-10 Begining
11-20 Pre-Prime
21-30 Prime
31-40 Post-Prime
41-50 End

Rules
No 3 Knockdown
No Standing 8
Can be saved by bell in any round
Only ref can stop the fight
Three Judges score the bout
10-pt must system

To keep things simple refs, trainers, cutmen, venues, and judges will be selected at random. Judges will keep their individual bias'.

Fights will be more or less at random, until I can get some feel for the way things are going, then I will add in some hand picked matches.

Fighters will retire automaticall after 50 fights. Fighters will also retire after 5 consecutive losses. New fighters will be added whenever I feel like it. They will be selected purely at random.

The Fighters.....

As with any new promotion you really don't know what you have in the begining. You kind of need to throw everyone together in a battle royale and see who comes out on top. I like tournaments because you can get many fights scheduled for the fighters and you can weed out some of the talent. The downside is that your good fighters ineveitably end up fighting early on and you really never end up with that 48-0 fighter.

Aside from random scheduling, tournaments seem to be the best option until the group gets a little larger and settled out. Fighters are not ranked until after their 10th fight so no sense in looking at that just yet. I have a feeling that there may be some fresh blood in the future.

I have an 8-man single elimination tournament scheduled next.

In a rematch of their first fight where Mahone cleaned Wageners clock with one punch. Neither fighter has really done anything since and don't look like they are going for the title any time soon.

Rumor had it Wagener partied too hard and forgot to train, Mahone looks good.

Ed Mahone by majority decision

You would think that your opponent takes you lightly, he tires by the 3rd round, and you put him down 3 times, that you would do better than a majority decision. I think that if Wagener actually trained he would have won this one.

Round 2: Bertazzolo
Round 3: Ficucello has his lip cut. Bertazzolo
Round 4: Ficucello
Round 5: Ficucello and Bertazzolo are tired. Ficucello
Round 6: Bertazzolo
Round 7: Ficucello goes down and is saved, and gashed under his left eye. Bertazzolo
Round 8: Ficucello
Round 9: Bertazzolo
Round 10: Ficucello

Bertazzolo 224/554

Scoring
96-94 Ficucello
95-94 Bertazzolo

Ralph Ficucello by split decision.

This actually turned out to be a really good fight. They seemed pretty evenly matched up. I actually had Bertazzolo winning by 1. Shows how much I know.

Pretty sad for a slugger like Sam to not do anything against a winless fighter with a suspect chin, who cam in out of shape. Hawkins is a game fighter who met Sam punch for punch.

REMATCH!

Sinan Samil Sam 1-0-1 v. Long Tom Hawkins 0-2-1

Both fighters enter the ring in good shape.

Round 1: Hawkins
Round 2: Sam
Round 3: Sam
Round 4: Hawkins goes down..and he is out!

The winner, by knockout, at 1:01 of the 4th round is Sinan Samil Sam!

Sam 76/309
Hawkins 56/90

Sam was ahead on 2 of 3 scorecards.

Hawkins' chin lets him down again. Sam was throwing tons of punches and really dominating the ring action. Hawkins was landing while he was throwing, which wasn't very often.

Paul Cavalier 1-0-0 v. Ron Stander 1-3-0 (1)

This is a rematch of Cavalier's debut. He was able to dominate Stander then and his trainer is confident he will do it again.

Paul Cavalier is in good shape, while 'The Butcher' failed to train really at all.

Very similar fight as before. Ron Stander sucks, and has terrible accuracy. Paul Cavalier barely seemed to break a sweat for this fight.

Ficucello looks good, Mahone's training looks questionable.

Round 1: Mahone
Round 2: Ficucello
Round 3: Mahone
Round 4: Mahone goes down for a 4 count. Ficucello
Round 5: Mahone goes down for an 8 count. TKO

The winner, by TKO at 2:52 of round 5, Ralph Ficucello!

Mahone 81/205
Ficucello 119/405

Ficucello was ahead on all 3 scorecards.

I thought for a minute that Ed Mahone was going to make a run for it, but instead is knocked out for the third time. Ficucello is on to the finals of the tournament.

I had Sam winning this fight as well, but still felt like it was a big upset. Cavalier certainly had not been tested in his previous fights and Sam was no world beater against Long Tom Hawkins. Makes for a good final.

This was the worst beat-down in the history of UHB. Sam was completely unrecognizable after this fight, his face in shreds. Ficucello never let up, a continuous barrage of punches that no fighter has shown to this point. Who would have thought that Ficucello had that much power?

Bruce Seldon is scheduled to make his UHB debut against Ron Stander. This is an important fight for both fighters. Seldon wants to make a great start, and Stander is fighting for his career. If he loses this one, he will retire.

Another fighter is also fighting for his career. Long Tom Hawkins, who has yet to win his first fight, will fight Ed Mahone. Neither fighter is doing well, although both have shown potential. Hawkins trainer has picked this fight carefully.

Also on the card are sluggers Rudi Wagener and Riccardo Bertazzolo. Don't plan for this one to go the distance. Sinan Samil Sam against Murray Gitlitz. Sam is still trying to get his self respect off the floor and Gitlitz would like to earn some after his 1st round KO in his debut. Ralph Ficucello and Paul Cavalier in a battle of up and coming stars. Finally, Marvis Frazier, the quick, and crafty boxer will take on Jack Munroe, who is still trying to make a name for himself in the UHB.

Well Stander did put on a good fight. He outworked Seldon, and by my record had at least earned a draw. But it was not to be. Bruce Seldon did not look dominating, considering he was fighting one of the lowest rated fighters in the UHB. His future is a little murky.

Sam gets a comfortable win. A couple of knockdowns and he was never really tested. Gitliltz was landing when he was throwing, which wasn't often enough. He needs to be more aggressive.

An inspiring fight from Ralph, as he was cut severly around his left eye, and was lucky the ref didn't stop the fight. Next he was able to floor Paul Cavalier 2 times. Cavalier showed good poise by hanging in there and winning early and not giving up after the knockdowns and taking the last 2 rounds. I am sure that these two will meet again.

Frazier landed a ridiculous percentage of punches thrown. He is easily the most accurate puncher in all of the UHB. Jack Munroe could do nothing against the crafty boxer. I don't think he hit him with one solid punch the entire fight.

Hawkins was leading on all 3 cards.

What can I really say? Hawkins was doing exactly what he needed to do. He was executing his gameplan perfectly. Unfortunately he forgot that Ed "The Hammer" Mahone can hit like a ton of bricks. Mahone was going to lose this one, no doubt about it, but like other fights he pulled it out with the big punch and big round.

Today at press conference fighters Ron "The Butcher" Stander and Long Tom Hawkins announced their retirements from the Ultimate Heavyweight Boxing federation. Both fighters addmitted that they regretted doing so, but felt that their health was more important. Commish PilotMan added that "the way these two were fighting one of them was going to get hurt seriously. Neither looks to have a bright future in boxing and we reccomended that they find another carrer."

We are pleased to announce that we have signed 3 new fighters to the UHB. First, we have signed Jorge Brescia, a right handed, slugger from Argentina. The second new fighter is Alex "The Destroyer" Stewart, a right handed, slugger from the United Kingdom. And the last is Jack Gardner, another right handed, slugger, from the UK.

We are pleased that these fighters have chosen to start their careers here and look forward to seeing them in the ring soon.

Thank you very much. If you have any suggestions about potential matchups I would be glad to consider them. The public always has a right to be heard. Too bad real boxing can't be like that.

Another easy win against a lesser opponent for Frazier. He is a true boxer --> too afraid to get clobbered. Not a great debut for Jorge. He didn't hurt Frazier one time, which is too bad, since Frazier doesn't have the best chin. A tough opponent for the first fight.

This goes down as an upset in my book. Wagener, to this point should not be in the same league as Paul Cavalier. Cavalier in his own right has now lost 2 straight fights. Things were going all his way in the begining, Wagener fought hard and deserves the win.

What kinds of things would you like to see? I think that I may be able to come up with a height and weight, and I may be able to small keys to win preview for the fight as well. What ratings would you like to see?
