TCY: High school setup?
Hi,
Has anyone set up TCY to have something of a high school setup? By this, I mean changing all of the colleges to high school names, and going to a playoff format? I think something like this would work, and I was just wondering if anyone had tried it. Thanks, John |

Dola,
Ages wouldn't matter to me. Recruiting classes would be considered the "grade school" freshman classes. Hopefully that would take care of anyone who brings that up. |

I think, while it would be tedious to change every name, if you did it once you would never have to do it again as long as you saved the Universe files. If i was gonna do it I would make my assistants handle all recruiting since I would have no say in who my team is as a high school coach. |

How would you handle redshirts?

Is it actually against the rules for 8th graders to practice with their high school? Not in most places, I don't think. Most states allow 8th graders to compete for their varsity school, but the same rule applies: You can only compete for 4 years. I've read of 7th and 8th graders winning state in stuff like cross country in the Sports Illustrated faces in the crowd section before.

I actually tweaked the FOF engine to simulate High School through house rules (though it does have its flaws). Check it out in the Dynasty section under "Mar-Mac Spartans." We're playing for the state championship right now.

I think you would have to not redshirt anyone on your team for that reason, but you would have no way to keep the other teams from redshirting.

If they aren't playing, that's of no issue to me. I don't mind the redshirts. If I read it right a few weeks ago, some high schools in New England allow redshirting, too. I forget where I read it, but I read it several times to make sure I got it right...that said, I still may not have.
