IHOF Films Presents: "This is the IHOF"

A little something I put together for the kickoff of year four over at IHOF...

This started out as a 'let me see what I can do' and turned into a 4 hour project. This is the first time I've done anything like this, so I'm extremely pleased with the results.

I think you're one of the few teams who does not appear in a single image I could find. I bet ducking the 'what color is your helmet' question all those years had something to do with it.

It is a scandel that has rocked our organization to the core and I have made a plea to the graphics gurus of the league to finally make the helmet dk. green but no one has responded to my pleas. See my request in the graphic forum

Wow, very nice!!

I wonder what it feels like to be a programmer and see stuff like that involved with your product? I also wonder if Jim really knew how well multi-player would be received?

The video kind of reminded me of Tecmo Bowl. You know, when your QB goes back to throw the ball and your get that graphic of the qb throwing the ball, shaking on the screen?

I used the opening music from Tecmo Bowl. That game did a fantastic job of adding atmosphere to supplement the limited graphic capabilities. I mean, that game makes the entire kicking game exciting!

Tecmo is in my eyes, the #2 football game of all time behind FOF2004. And it will forever remain way up there.

What did you use to make this, ct?

We were kicking around the idea of making an audio file in the JBL similar to how "This Week in Baseball" opened up, but with our fictional players, making ti sound like we had famous clips of those players.... bsak never did record any.

GAR!

Jasc Animation Shop to create the video, then I used Mpeg Video Wizard to add sound and edit so things would time out as closely as possible (for example, I shifted the speed on a few things to make the video synch with the change in audio).

I played around with a Flash movie for IHOF a while back while I was in a workshop, but my trial subscription ran out before i could finish it. If was fun to work on, though.

Yeah, this is the one area I struck out in. Even when I exported the final product at a smaller size (half the size, for example) the file still ended up being about 90% the size of the original. If anyone has any advice on how to produce a smaller file, please let me know.

Yay! Merchantmen greats Cody Cluff (in one of his many tackles) and Fumblin' Justin McDavid (in one of his rare moments of getting sacked) made the movie. I don't want to be remembered of Georgia Gridlock's then rookie quarterback Tim Wilkes image from the game the guy tore our defense apart.

Okay, we were uncredited, but we were at least in there.

We can make it a class-action, since there's no love for the Ospreys, either.

But a cool effort nevertheless, Corey.
