Yourmusic.com
Anyone else checked out this site yet? Yourmusic.com seems to be an extension of the BMG music service (you know, the buy 12 for a penny people), or perhaps a sister service.
Basically, you set up a list of CD's you want, and each month they charge you $6 and send you the top CD on the list. You can also buy any number of CD's for $6 each, no shipping costs, seemingly no strings. It seems you never get a CD you don't want, and there isn't an obligation. Works out to about $.50 a song (assuming 12 songs a CD). Its not hot new CD's, I think it lags about 3-6 months behind the release date. Its good for people like me who don't always have to have a CD right off. Obviously not good for people who are indie fans. Good for people like me on dial-up who can't use Itunes and don't feel like stealing songs anymore (and I don't trust the Russian sites). I just signed up today and have a list of about 75 CD's (which means I should have them all in 6 years). I think I could waste a lot of money here. Note: Also a good deal for box sets, since each CD counts only $6, so you can save a bit of money. |
