I think I saw that Krondor, aka indoorsoccersim, is running. Not as a mandated FOFCer, but still he's part of the bunch

Has the FOFC decided to endorse a candidate for the election yet. I know that last time we pick brx, but this time we have Dennis running too. Any thoughts?

We've taken over other parts of the online gaming world as well -- I'm the USA national team manager in Hockey Arena, and Havoc (I think) is the manager in eHockey.

Can someone give some of us who don't follow it as closely how brx did in his first term as coach?

Thanks to those who give me their support.

Even though I know Ardent will vote for Bryx, I think he can give me a vote of confidence if I do win.

There is some serious competiton out there for the U-20, with Uhcoog, Bryx, and I am actually hoping to drum up more supporters.

Not a lot of people are posting in my threads, which keep getting it buried, but I am trying to keep it up by responding to the questions in a timely manner.

Just remember, if you don't vote for me, at least vote. The U.S. Teams need our support more than ever.

eHockey is more like Hattrick. But it's unpolished, and development has languished a bit due to the small staff.
Hockey Arena is a lot different from Hattrick, the training doesn't involve specialization and there are contracts for players (with restricted free agency). It's more polished, undergoing active development, and seems to be growing fairly rapidly.

The U-20 team won the Qual Group with 7 wins and 1 tie.

They went on to win Round II with 2 wins and a tie.

It was in Round III where the USA was dropped, finishing with just a tie out of three matches.

The most interesting story of the past two seasons for the U-20 also occurred during Round III.

U-20 Nederland requested a mutual PIC, and Brx agreed. Nederland didn't honor the agreement, however, and normalled the match. Brx went with an all out offensive, Ardent style. It probably would have worked against a PICing Nederland, but with a normal set Nederland, we lost, 4-3.

A win over Nederland would have advanced us to Round IV. Had we went normal or MOTS against Nederland, we quite likely wouldn't have made it out of Round IV and into the "medal rounds."

Then again, we'll never know.

Dola, my story may be off here and there, but I believe it to be historically accurate. I can't find anything backing it up, though.

Just sue me if you have issues.

Wait, are you sure Nederland normaled? My recollection is that their TS afterwards indicated that they held up their end of the bargain. They then rode their high TS all the way into the final.

Nederland PICed, I can tell you that
Our U20 coach and Brx can get along, and they didn't fuck eachother over

I'm running for Nederland coach right now, tough competition....at least I'm top 10, hope to have a fair chance... Would be fun to play Dan in round III again if he gets re-elected...been chatting with him lately, if i were in the US, my vote would be his.

I honestly didn't pay attention to U-20 Nederland afterward. I think Brxnivy told me during the match that Nederland normalled, which is why I said that here.

Nope, Nederland held up their end of the bargain and played PIC. We had the game in control until we lost the experience event and gave up 2 quick goals late in the game and lost 4-3.

Results are up in 10 minutes...I am curious...did FryDog still a lot of the vote in his campaign of apathy?

Or were Bryx or uhcoog following strong enough to get them there.

Or even more, will an unknown such as myself take it?

I ended up 5th in Nederland with 351 votes Bigger gap with the winner than I expected...though I see opportunities for the next U20 elections in 2 seasons.

You know, the thing that actually hurts....or rather stings...is Team Nerdle received more votes than I did...

I say that, because it is almost like the kid, like FryDog, never takes the elections seriously.

Congrats to brx though.....

I personally liked that brx was continuing to try to improve all aspects of the team and wasn't solely focused on the coaching aspect of it.

How does the <17% turnout rate (of active US players) compare to usual elections if anyone knows?

We had a similar turnout (though it improved by 40% from last season, and double than 2 seasons ago). 2.2k voters for 13k owners. ~ 17%

Edit : that is for France U20

09-02-2005 Nouveau sélectionneur U-20
Le vainqueur de l'élection ne pouvant assumer ses fonctions, le candidat ayant terminé à la deuxième place a été nommé pour prendre les rênes de la sélection.

quick translation

The winner of the election cannot assume his functions. The candidate who finished 2nd has been awarded the leadership of the selection.

----------------

No info on a potential lock, or the player retiring or the player being sick. No, nothing from GMs. Thats bad communication from HT people...... We only know from a post lost in a thousands of threads that the guy was locked by french GMs, and that global GMs decided to have #2 win the election.

This sucks (lack of communication). However I had voted for #2 so I'm fine with him

To me and quite a bit of the other users, not just people running in the election. This was a campaign of apathy.

It was a if you vote for me, I guess I have to be the coach. He never truly went through everything that most of us did...

I know he takes the nat team extremely serious, and I know he will run for that election seriously. But this u-20 one was a joke.
