FOFC End of Season Evaluation
FOFC End of Season Evaluation
It's the day after the Super Bowl and you know what that means: Herb's annual judgement day! Team Performance: 95/100 There've been difficult times, as always. Again a lot of factors kept the performance up, even reaching all time highs in some areas. Franchise Value: 100/100 With the rise of FOF Multiplayer, we're still going strong and have more value than ever before. Profit/Loss: 35/100 It's still mainly volunteers and profit/loss is rarely a positive thing with volunteers, as much effort as they show. But then, we're not here to be profitable. Roster Strenght: 80/100 Too little Ez sightings, too many trolls popping up. Still, rookies with great potential keep showing up, but not all fill up the green bars with all these disgruntled grizzled vets demanding playing time. Difficulty Level: 90/100 A strong comunity, but the 404-era put a strong test on the board. Then there were people trying to play minor league board, but like a cat, FOFC lands on its feet and walks away like nothing happened. Recruitment Score: 50/100 Still doing a bad job recruiting, but with the number of walk-ons, both in the high quality and the quantity, things even out. Dean Houston Bashing: 20/100 Houston we have a problem, Air Force One has flown ino Hell Atlantic's brain cells. Only premature retirement of Seth Dwight can keep Dean legendary. The bashing was there, but the power of the bash will never reach the high light days again. Lurking Score: 70/100 There seem to be more lurkers than ever before. Maybe posting machines like JeeberD and JeeberDMack shouldn't scare them off. But then, the most famous lurker, Heybrad, (Hey Brad!) seems to have found new inspration out of it and became the first known repeating FOF multiplayer champion. FOF Enhancing Utilites: 95/100 The FOFC golden ages may have gone long ago, but the Golden Age of utilities is here. Draft reviewer, roster extractor, play-by-play enhancement, draft file generator, did I miss anything? Patching Ability: 90/100 Well, not every patch was as good, but quantity goes over quality here, as if quality was an issue and quantity was at an all time high. Solecismic 's still standing strong. Dynasty Reporting: 95/100 Looking good here: FOF and TCY dynasties, the ZFL still alive, a new Group Think project, more QuikSand challenges, SkyDog dynasty-testing and a big bunch of role playing dynasties. Sadly the Godzilla Blitz led X-Com II adventure ended in a dramatic way. The other thing keeping it from 100 is Kodos' abandonment of his Lake Monsters dynasty. Elitism: 35/100 Oh dear, some people really think they are the most important people in the universe. The FOFC universe, I mean. That VPI97 ran show called IHOF is cool and all, but the way the elitists dominated in WSUCougar's ran Eliminate The F*cking Elitists game, it was very discouraging. No way I can rate this in the GOOD area. Games, puzzles and unintentional Friday comedy: 90/100 MMR might have died a silent death, but IWS is heading towards edition #100 and the new Enigma project almost made the 2/3rd reference vanish. But the cherry on the pie was late in the year, as F's Awkward topic, improved with illustrations by Flere-imsaho, Godzilla Blitz and Raven Hawh, really pulled the score up in this merit. Trout Necessity: 95/100 We don't need more trout. Smilie-usage Value: 75/100 The rolleyes symbol isn't as often used as before. Everybody still manages to work their way without all the fancy stuff other boards have. FOFC can still pretty much live with basic emoticons. Compliments, people! Political Correctness: 15/100 C'mon, I know I can't expect good things in an election year, it's plain and simple. But there was more discussion than the past years and it all ended in the same way: in a cat fight. And as expceted, Kerry turned into meshed tomato, but not until after George W. Bush joined the board to save his job. Replay Value: 95/100 There was a bad timed outage at the start of the NFL season really haunted FOFC (there were even more less significant bad-timed outages), but with SkyDog opening his home to hang out and Ryan S also working his but of, things were saved and even all-time highs in attendance were reached. Year-End Score: 95/100 The 404-era kept the difficulty high, but with franchise records in attendance, could I really give a lower score here? Where's the perfect 100? Well, elitism, too little AFO-bashing and too much political incorrectness keeps us from the max. Let's find out what 2005 will bring to us all, welcome to the new season! |

I just can't take anyone serious that has an account from January, 2001.
/Just to notch the elite score up a tad

The other thing keeping it from 100 is Kodos' abandonment of his Lake Monsters dynasty.
I don't think that anyone actually misses that dynasty. Now the paint-chip eating dynasty might be another story. ![]() |
