I love open source software ...
but sometimes the users are a bit too much. I have a guy that does some work for our association that is now using Open Office. The only catch is that he apparently has no clue how to use the program, so he keeps saving his invoices in a Star Office format that I can't open. I've tried to get him to send me the invoice in a different format, but he can't quite figure it out.
Unfortunately, while his customer service skills are extremely low, his pretty much the only option I have, so I can't tell him to pull his head out or I won't pay him. If I don't pay him, he won't do our deliveries and there is no way I can get anyone to do what he does at his price. I love open source. But until the rest of the world catches up, if you're going to use it you're going to have to be flexible. The only solution I've been able to come up with is to install Open Office on my own machine. Anybody have any better suggestions or knowledge of a plug-in I've missed? |

You mean the "Open files sent by a moron" plug in? I'll try and google up a link. ![]()
