TCY: Couple of Question

Its been a while since I last played TCY, and have a few questions.

1) What do you need to do to get a job offer at another school?

2) What do you look at to determine how well a player will play Bump & Run defense when there is no stat for it?

3) Do 3-4 defenses or 4-3 defenses work better? I seem to have much better luck when running a 3-4 because when I go to the 50 defense against running teams, it normally works well. When in a 4-3, going to the 46 defense causes big problems.

2) It's their man coverage skills.

Have a good couple of years then have a not so good year and it seems like the offers will come in. Winning a championship with a small school you would expect lot's of offers from the big boys but it is the year after when you go 8-3 that the offers usually come in.

I have had success with both the 4-3 and 3-4. It seems to just depend on whether I have better DTs or ILBs. I agree the 50 is much more successful than the 46 which definitely will give up some huge plays in the passing game. I never use the 46 now. If you are going to use the 3-4 make sure you are going to get some good sack numbers from you DEs. Even blitzing a lot with your LBs will often not get as much pressure as two solid DEs rushing.

Switching defense to counter the offensive set works quite well in TCY, if you have the personnel. My general rule is

3-4 versus pass happy offenses
4-3 versus "pro" set only (but it does the job nicely)
50 versus Iformation sets and other FB/HB sets
46 versus power running (that is, full house backfield formations), but not Veer which will rip the 46. I learned that from reading Football For Dummies, tried it out and confirmed TCY works that way.

TCY says clearly to use the 46 when the offense does not pass much. If the other offense doesn't pass much, the 46 can be a great tool. I find it works wonders against 0/16 rated QBs (just played one recently in fact).
