TCY Question - Quick Simming

I notice that over time, the elite teams in the game seem to go undefeated at a higher rate than in real life. However, I quick sim all games except for my own team and the championship game. For those of you who do play-by-play for all games, do you see more variability (i.e., juggernaut teams getting knocked down more often)?

I'm playing as Rutgers, and going 11-1 every year because Virginia became a permanent OOC game in the latest patch is starting to get frustrating. Oh well, I better start putting together the best team money can buy...

Have I been naive for thinking that the engine is exactly the same whether you're viewing play-by-play or not?

Yeah, this isn't Tony LaRussa baseball we're talking about here. Same engine.

Is that true? The only reason I ask is because I play TCY on an ancient computer. So, play-by-play set at the fastest level is still pretty slow compared to quick-sim, where games still only take about a second to resolve, even on my slow-assed computer. Thus, I wonder if the engine is the same...

The engine is the same. Says so in the help.

Is there anyone who actually does this?

Oh I don't know, I just threw it out there to see if anybody with faster computers did it. I don't really know what the new processors are capable of. I'm like an East German behind the wall...

This is something I'd like to see tweaked a little in the future. Juggernaut teams will dominate for 30-40 years at a time, while weak teams will stay bad for equal amounts of time. That's not to say that teams don't occasionallyget worse or better, but the top 20% of bad and worse teams don't seem to show enough variability(after so many years).

I do. It really doesn't take that long, it is fun, and it gives you a chance to see how the computer is using your players.

I think Pass was referring to someone viewing ALL of the nation's games. I myself watch every once of my games as I'm sure many do.
