He's a good man and a good coach on the d-line. He's a hard worker, and y'all are getting a good one overall, if they keep him away from the special teams.
There were definitely problems there.

You name it.
Kickoff and punt return averages were bad, on a team with PLENTY of speed. Mental breakdowns seemed to be the norm, rather than the exception. Dumb penalties. I could go on, but you get the picture. Lots of little problems that would seem to point to coaching, not talent.

Georgia has apparently found a replacement for recently departed defensive ends coach Jon Fabris – Jon Fabris. In an unexpected turn of events, Fabris, who resigned his position at Georgia Sunday to take a similar job with Oklahoma, stepped down from his new position with the Sooners to apparently re-join Mark Richt's staff. There has been no formal announcement from Georgia regarding Fabris' potential return, but a release from Oklahoma said that Fabris was returning to UGA. Georgia could be making an announcement regarding Fabris this afternoon, a spokesman from the athletic association said. Fabris, 47, cited personal reasons for his sudden departure from the Sooners' program in the statement issued from Oklahoma. "I just have some personal matters that have to be addressed," Fabris said in the release. "There is no more to it than that." Said Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops: "There were some issues that Jon thought could be worked out, but now it appears that it would be best for him to return to Georgia. He's making the decision for the right reasons. We all respect him for taking this kind of stand."

Just a rumor, but his background check was supposed to have been on Wednesday or Thursday. So maybe something popped up? I guess we'll have to go back to the 'ole K-State yearbook

I've heard that now too, and I think it's more probable. |
