The New World Football League Announces Forming
New York (AP) -- The New World Football League announced today that it will be forming a 32 team association that is excepted to fill the void left by the NFL after it collapsed. The NFL came under heavy legal scrutiny after the halftime show at the Super Bowl was deemed ‘unacceptable’ by viewers. The incident spawned after Rosie O’Donnell showed up topless at the event. “The NFL was a victim of its own clean image,” said new NWFL commissioner Tim Brice. “We will not do that. We will forewarn that our players may offend someone if they score a touchdown. We refuse to be known as the No Fun League. This way, our viewers can expect it and will have no legal jurisdiction.” The NWFL will being its play around the same time that the NFL did. It will feature two conferences, with four divisions each. The divisions will have four teams a piece. The structure is virtually the same as the NFL. “We are copying the NFL word for word. We are emulating the style that made them some popular. However, we refuse to fall it to the same legal trap they did. The league will be competitive. Our franchises will be well- supported.” The NWFL is expected to announce its team list as early as tomorrow. Editors Note: This will be an FOF dynasty with a twist. I am taking a fictional league with fictional players. I will be controlling a team. That team will be the Memphis Showboats. However, I will not be reporting from a GM standpoint. Rather, this will be reported in a media style format. I will be looking at all the teams, as well as the week to week action. Feel free to pick your favorite team and follow along. Opinions and write-ups are always welcome.
