IWS #100 Results

Holy Jenna Von Oy! 67 entries for the special Century Mark Edition of I'm With Stupid. This was the edition that proved that all of you are truly with stupid. Man...The perfect score number was in the billions. I think that pretty much sums it up. Anyhow;

Question 1:

Every holiday season there is one toy that parents will kill for. Which one of these toys was the most annoying?

Tickle Me Elmo-45
Furby-8
Cabbage Patch Kids-6
Pokemon-2
Tomagotchi-2
Barbie Doll
Singing Elmo
Operation
Elmo

Ok, I understand that Singing Elmo and Elmo are really close. I am, however, aware that many incarnations of Elmo plush dolls exist, and neither of you guys would have won even I gave it to you.

Question 2:

What is the most popular catchphrase or "catch word" from the Simpsons?

D'Oh-66
Eat My Shorts

Well, we had a clean sweep going right up until the deadline. I really didn't want to make history on this question, and I can technically say I escaped that fate. I wasn't aware D'Oh had such a stranglehold.

Question 3:

Name the best film to feature Haley "Born on the 100th day of the year nearly 75% of the time" Joel Osment

Sixth Sense-63
A.I.-2
Forrest Gump
Signs

What a bad idea. I was really hoping that the "Sixth Sense was garbage" contingent would be too eager to make a statement thus ignoring all logic. I was foiled.

Question 4:

If you had to bet $100 smackeroos on an illicit street race, which American make and model of car would you choose to drive?

Chevrolet Corvette-31
Ford Mustang-29
Dodge Viper-4
Ford Thunderbird
Ford
Dodge Magnum

The 'Vette and the Mustang waged the war to end all wars, trading equal blows right up until the 'Vette made one last push to ward off the prickly challenger. Nevermind that both would lose to the Viper

Question 5:

If you conducted 100 FOF drafts, which position would be taken #1 overall most often?

Quarterback-50
Defensive End-11
Defensive Tackle-3
Left Tackle-2
Cornerback

Once again, most of you fought off the urge to go with the darkhorse. Bummer for my calculator

Question 6:

Which musical act, over the past 100 years, was the most important?

Beatles-52
Elvis Presley-10
Rolling Stones-2
Jimi Hendrix-2
John Lennon

I'm sure some of you guys begrudgingly answered Beatles, when you were really Elvis people. Muhaha!

Anyways this IWS was, er, special because so many of you had the same answers, in fact 11 people won with 100% correct. Those 11 lovely people are:

Archer219 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
Barkeep49 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
Cartman 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
Logan 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
Radii 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
msf518 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
ahbrady 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
Jesse Ewiak 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
Masked 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
QuikSand 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%
Dangarion 45 66 63 31 50 52 15,081,066,000 100.0%

Now how should we break this tie? Should we even break this tie? I'm open to suggestions from everyone, but all the winners have to agree on it. Has this happened before in IWS?

11 winners... wow... you should break the tie by asking some more questions. But have someone else ask them

As a person who voted Viper (the only one I missed), I have to say stupid don't know cars.

Stupid knows cars. The Corvette and Mustang are both American classics, while the Viper is new on the scene.

My lack of knowledge of recent children's toys doomed me on the first question.

Ford GT40 would cream the Mustang, Corvette AND Viper in a street race anyway, even the old model, but I voted Mustang since I was certain no one would vote for that.

I was appalled when Elmo was singled me out. I had forgotten about the variations, or rather didn't realize that an Elmo of any kind was a sensation for more than one holliday season. My bigger error was thinking that a DE was quite often taken first overall in FoF.

Congrats to the winners. You guys should make T-Shirts.

I had Singing Elmo vs Tickle Me Elmo, otherwise we'd have 12 tied. Technicalities, sigh.

dola, no idea what to do about the tie... is a quick turnaround tiebreaker round realistic? Or would we find some way to drag that out a whole week... if we could get it done over the weekend that would seem the way to go.

I say we base it on who finished the highest among human coaches last season in the FOFC FBCB league!

Did one person finish last?

Maybe we give him the opportunity to start the new century of IWS, but mark all 11 winners as champions on the Hall of Heroes?

I think someone brainwashed you all with QB. There is a HUGE defensive bias at the top. I was DT. I concede my Rolling Stones to your Beatles.

I knew I was pacing myself for a great showing in the milestone 100th edition. Little did I realize that 10 others were as well

I think instead of resolving the tie, we go with part of digamma's proposal. The 11 dumberers get added to the Hall of Heroes.

The questions for #101 come from the Top 6 people in the Hall of Heroes with the most wins, one question from each of the 6.

Man -- how I didn't come up with The Beatles amazes me (I stuck on the singular 'musician,' I guess...), and I knew I should have gone with the 'vette over the Viper. Ah well.

Who was the other guy who said Hendrix for #6? You have good taste. The Beatles suck, as proven by the Superbowl halftime show.

I said Hendrix.

Though I must say, I had pretty good seats for the halftime show and thought it was one of the most amazing performances I had ever seen.

Yes easilly the best Half Time performance At a SuperBowl ever.

Those of us who picked D-lineman for the first pick question. We' completely blundered in the easiest, most obvious IWS mistake there is. We said to ourselves that with the "obvious defensive bias" and the fragile Defensive linemen of previous versions the answer had to be obvious. The problem is that Stupid doesn't try to get the right answer, he goes for the obvious one.

FWIW, I think that there was one IWS question in which everyone answered the same thing. Something about naming a section of the newspaper and everyone putting down sports.

QB?!?!? They are barely ever taken first (just 3 in my current 51 season career, 15 DE's). Just say DE baby!!!

I think the Simpson question was almost a sweep because of the "catch-word" part of the question. If that had been left out, then it may have been a much more varied response.

I forgot about that Tickle Me Elmo, I think I would like to change my Furby response.

Congrats to the winners!!!

I think I stopped tracking the IWS after around IWS 40 or 50... If those newer IWSes are still on board, I might be able to add them to the historical spreadsheet of questions and results.

(Maybe the stopping had to do with somebody not posting the full standings and/or answers... If not, go blame the IHOF. )

So are we going with the each winner submit one question idea? The top six all-time winners submit? Either way let's start up the next round.
