FM: Belluno....

Just want to preface this dynasty a little before I dive into it in the next couple of days or so. I've played CM 01/02 and that is it. I did not purchase any versions of CM since. I played the FM demo and loved it. It also helps that I have a new computer that can handle the game.

Seeing how almost all dynasties take place in England I figured I would throw in a new wrinkle and play in Italy. No, I will not be in Serie A, but WAY down at the bottom in Serie C2/A.

How long this will last? Only time will tell.

The day was September 15th, 2004. It was around 9 PM when my phone rang. I figured it would be one of my close friends challenging me to a game on X-box live. I picked up and the gentleman on the other line started speaking what sounded like to be Italian or Spanish. I told him he had the wrong number and hung up. Geesh, can't people dial a simple phone number correctly.

I go back to watching my Tivo as I had recorded a international friendly between the US and Mexico. Then the phone rings again. I go over and pick up and this time I get a guy on the other line who speaks broken english and that is about all. He says my name right away which gets my attention because I want to know who this guy is and where the hell he is calling me from.

He goes on to tell me that his name is Roberto Padrin and he is a General Manager of a soccer club in Italy. In my head I'm wondering that this can't be serious. There is no way that these guys want me to go to Italy to play. I'm now 30 yrs. old (only 24 IRL) and I haven't played competitvely for almost 5 years. If it wasn't for my two ACL tears in my early 20's then I'd probably still be playing.

To my surprise, Padrin tells me that the club just lost their coach, 56 yo. Maurizio Seno, to Cesena a month ago. He tells me that the league starts in 4 days and they want some new blood.

I think about it for about a minute and tell him I'll be on the next flight to Italy. I'm stoked for this opportunity to actually get back into the game of soccer and as a coach no less.

Man, what a night. I called all my friends and family to tell me that I had an opportunity of a lifetime and that I had to take it. My two business partners were okay with me leaving our small business for a while to take this job. I guess they figure that I have no chance of succeeding. I hope they are wrong.

I got all my stuff packed up and the earliest flight I could catch was a 11 am flight of SFO. This was a good thing because even though I speak a little spanish, which has similar roots to Italian, it gave me time to grab a "Learn Italian Quickly" book.

Passport....check....
Clothing....check....
Ipod....check....
Italian book...check....
The fax copy of my contract....CHECK....

The plane ride was uneventful. None of the attendants were eye candy to say the least. The in-flight movie was rather boring as well.

We finally get to Rome and it's a cozy 62 degrees.

I see this guy waving a sign, "Gonzalez, David". I'm pretty sure that is going to be my ride. I go with the driver who speaks very little english and we get in his car. I can tell this is not a wealthy club becuase all I getis a lousy taxi cab. Maybe someday I'll get a nice limo to pick me up.

I fall asleep during the ride and have no idea how long it took, but thank goodness I'm finally at my hotel. The team has put me up in the local hotel until I have time to find a place. That is, if I make it of course.

I get to my room and fall asleep.

I'm awaken around 2 PM, local time, by Padrin. He tells me that they are sending a car to the hotel to come pick me up and bring me to the stadium.

I get ready and head downstairs. The car, another cab, arrived 10 minutes later and I was off to meet my new boss.

As we drive, I finally get to see that this looks like a neat little city. A bunch of shops and who can miss the mountains. Bet the kids love skiing up here as much as they do soccer.

We finally arrive and I get to meet Padrin face to face. He lets me know that he's gald that I'm here and tells me that the staff is waiting for me in the office and that the players will be here around 4 for there afternoon practice.

Ummm. I kinda didn't bring my gear with me from the hotel so I'll have to go out there with my sneakers and jeans. Oh well. First things first. I need to meet my staff.

Coach Lenisa is 44. He will be our GK coach. He is a 4-4-2 guy who likes to play an attacking style. He will also be key to evaluating talent.

Graziano is our lone scout at the moment. He is 53 and he works well with youngsters. He is above average at judging ability but not so good at judging potential.

After meeting my staff, Padrin pulls me into his office. It's now 3:15 and I have time to kill before the afternoon practice.

Padrin tells me it's time to talk about money. I figure he means my contract so I pull my copy out and place it on the desk. He looks confused. Man this language barrier is killing me.

He waves his finger and says "David, must talk team money".

Ahh, I think he wants to talk about finances. He tells me that the club is running a defecit. $27k to be exact. He goes on to tell me that the payroll budget is $18,500 a week and that they are paying out $21k a week. Who is the accountant for this club?

I think Padrin can read facial expressions well, because he says, "No worry, David. Members give you $81k for transfers for season".

Well that should help...I hope. I haven't seen my squad yet so I'm not sure if this is good or bad.

Padrin also informs me that we have a sponsorship deal for $22.25K a year for the next 2 seasons.

He then points to the clock and I look to see that it is now 10 til 4. Time for me to meet my team.

I leave Padrin's office and make my way towards Polisportivo, that's the name of the stadium. It can hold 5000 spectators and 2500 of those are seated.

I arrive at the field and notice that the squad is out stretching in preparation for practice. This training facility looks like it is good condition. I'm a little surprised because I would have never guessed this to be true after the financial conversation I had with Padrin.

I greet the players but it seems that none of them understand what I'm saying. All of a sudden, one of the guys responds and lets me know that he is the only player that speaks english. I immediately ask his name and ash him to be my interpreter.

It's funny that the lone player to speak english and italian is a Nigerian.

After practice I go over my notes and here is what I've come up with:

GOALKEEPERS

Daniele Tormen
- 22 yo. old who looks to have average keeper skills. He played very aggressive in practice and is good at going up for the high ball.
Tormen is making $360/wk and is signed until 7/31/07.
Value - $16k

Tommaso Pereson - 21 yo. on loan from Cittadella. He has a very strong leg but needs work on the rest of his game.
Pereson is making $500/wk and his loan ends 6/21/05.
Value - 18k

DEFENDERS

(D RLC) Andrea Basso - 28 yo. who is the team captain due to his large influence that he has ad the younger player's seem to respect him. If Basso was American he would have probably been a keeper because he is not very good with his feet, but he does play the ball well with his head.
Basso is making $2400/wk and is signed until 6/30/05.
Value - $60k

(D L) Luca Masiero - 18 yo. on loan from Venezia. He looks to be a solid player in the making. He has a good mental makeup and can only get better with age.
Masiero is making $40/wk and his loan ends 6/21/05.
Value - $320k

(D C) Enrcio Rigo - 32 yo. who is another defender who is not good with his feet, but above average with his head.
Rigo is making $900/wk and is signed until 7/31/06.
Value - $2k

(D C) Simone Borriero - 22 yo. with good physical attributes. He is on loan from Cittaldella too. He has good acceleration, pace, stamina and he is smart enough to know if he is in good position or not.
Borriero is making $650/wk and his loan ends 6/21/05.
Value - $32k

(D/M R) Gabriele Barbisan - 21 yo. with long flowing hair. Looks to be a decent player right now, but with a good upside. He is also the best guy we have to send in a cross from the wing.
Barbisan is making $2200/wk and is signed unitl 6/30/06.
Value - $480k

MIDFIELDERS

(DM C) Igor De Mattia - 18 yo. who is physically under-developed. He is very determined and his mental attributes are clearly his strengths.
De Mattia is making $320/wk and is signed until 7/31/08
Value - $2k

(M R) Domenico Toscano - 33 yo. elder statesman of the team. He is earning way too much for his skill level and will probably find himself on the TL very shortly.
Toscano is making $1350/wk and is signed until 7/31/05.
Value - $2k

(M LC) Roberto Roverato - 19 yo. on loan from Vicenza. He has some good skills including his good stamina and acceleration. He can also make plays happen with his creativity.
Roverato is making $440/wk and his loan ends 6/21/05
Value - $28k

(M C) Daniele Cacciaglia - 22 yo. on loan from Triestina. He is one of the most skilled players on the team. He is not fit to play much in matches yet, but will probably get into the starting lineup soon.
Cacciaglia is making $700/wk and his loan ends 6/21/05
Value - $36k

(AM RL) Gilberto Zanoletti - 24 yo. on loan from Vicenza. I love guys who have the ability to play both sides of the pitch. He has great mental attributes and his passing and dribbling skills are tops on the squad.
Zanoletti is making $950/wk and his loan ends 6/21/05
Value - $100k

(AM RLC) Bruno Carnelossi - 21 yo. who has impressed my assistant manager, but I'm going to take a wait and see approach. His talent doesn't seem to add up too much, but I hope he develops well with some playing time.
Carnelossi is making $900/wk and is signed until 6/30/06
Value - $14k

STRIKERS

(F LC) Massmiliano Sessolo - 22 yo. with a nice finishing touch on his left foot. He's not very good in the air and that does not fly with the style I like to play.
Sessolo is making $1200/wk and is signed until 7/31/06
Value - $18k

(S C) Kenneth Zeigbo - 27 yo. Nigerian who is my translator. He did not practice today because he is recovering from a mild injury, but from what I understand he is very good in the air and is very strong. He is also slated to be our PK taker.
Ziegbo is making $4000/wk and is signed until 6/30/05
Value - $60k

(S C) Gianluca De Angelis - 23 yo. on loan from Verona. A tireless player who just knows how to put the ball in the net. No matter how out of position he is, De Angelis is able to use his first touch skills to set up a nice finish.
De Angelis is making $950/wk and his loan ends 6/21/05
Value - $80k

(S C) Medhi Kabine - 20 yo. from France who is good in the air. He has a very aggressive style of play. I know what you are thinking, "An aggressive frenchie?" Yes he is and he can put the ball in the net.
Kabine is making $460/wk and is signed until 7/31/05
Value - $6k

Practice over the next couple of days went well and I'm getting more of a feel of what this time has. My first game is coming up this Sunday against Monza. The media has them listed as contenders from promotion.

They play a 4-4-2 with offensive wingers. I'm going to try and play a 3-5-2 with a DM, 3 M, and an AM.

Padrin calls me late Saturday night to wish me luck and to let me know that whatever happens on Sunday will not raise doubt in the board's minds regarding their choice of coach.

From the start it was obvious that referee, Marco Provesi, was determined to be apart of this game. Igor De Mattia was carded after the first tackle of the game in the first minute. In the game's 3rd minute Monza's Margheriti got free after a nice long ball a sent a shot wide. In the 6th miinute, Massimiliano Sessolo was involved in a challenge with Monza's Stillo and he needed treatment. He was removed in the 9th minute and was replaced by mistake by Daniele Cacciaglia. In my haste to make a sub or the lack of english speaking players, Cacciaglia went into the game instead of Kabine.

Of course, I looked like a genius when Cacciaglia scored 2 minutes later. GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

Over the next 14 minutes we traded chances with Monza. Then in the 25th minute, Mr. Provesi decided to book
De Mattia for the second time and just like that we were a man down. I move Gabriele Barbisan from MR to DM and move Cacciaglia from F to MR.

In the 29th minute, Provesi carded Monza's Piovanelli for shirt pulling and then carded Margheriti for arguing. 2 minutes later, he carded
Bruno Carnelossi. Monza scored to tie on on the following possession.

You have got to be kidding! In the 34th minute, Provesi decides to book Gianluca De Angelis for tripping. I tell my guys to not tackel at all! I had my squad just playing at a normal rate, but now they are going to tackle very softly for the rest of the game.

WTF!!! Gilberto Zanoletti is the next victim in the book of Mr. Provesi in the game's 42nd minute.

We enter the half tied 1-1. Monza is outshooting us 12-4, but we have a 5-2 lead in bookings.

I tell the team at the half that they need to be very wary of this referee. He is trying to make sure everyone knows that he is here in Monza today. I hope he is not carding my player's because I'm American.

We come out of the half and then Provesi reared his ugly head again. In the 57th minute, he decided to book Bruno Carnelossi for the 2nd time and he was sent off. Now we are down to 9.

Luca Masiero
replaces Enrico Rigo at DL and Domenico Toscano is on to replace De Angelis. Toscano moves to MC. We are now playing a 3-4-1 and we are packing in the box.

10 minutes later Margheriti puts one in the net to give Monza a 2-1 lead. He is then subbed out of the game and receives a standing ovation for his performance.

In the 70th minute, Razzari rose above Cacciaglia to win a header off a corner and he was able to put it in the back of the net.

The next 20 minutes saw Monza dominate possession with their extra two players.

The game ended in a 3-1 loss to Monza.

Shots: Monza 22 - 5 Belluno
Sot: Monza 9 - 2 Belluo
Corners: Monza 5 - 0 Belluno
Fouls: Monza 6 - 11 Belluno

MoM: Nicholas Marelli (10)

Postgame notes:
  • De Mattia received a 5 for his effort today.
  • Sessolo and Rigo both showed no ill effects from the knocks they picked up during the game.

I gave the team Monday off and told them to come prepared to work on Tuesday afternoon. We go over film from the game to see what and where we can improve. I do know that I will be without the services of De Mattia and Carnelossi due to suspensions stemming from their red cards. I still can't get over all the cards that we received against Monza on Sunday.

Our opponent this Sunday is Sassuolo. They are currently in 3rd place in Serie C2/A. They prefer to play a 4-4-2 with offensive wingers.

I'm going to use a 4-4-2 for this upcoming match due to the suspensions to two of my players.

The first half was failry uneventful. Well, very uneventful when compared to last Sunday. The game is tied 0-0. We have been outshot 5-7 and they hold possession 47/53.

I really like how Zeigbo looks up front. He's won 4/7 headers and has 3 shots. I tell the team at the half that they need to start challenging for the ball better. We have only 45% of our tackles so far.

In the 59th minute we get a nice breakout from our own end and it leads to a great opportunity for Massimiliano Sessolo. He received a pretty pass from Zeigbo and he put it in the back of the net.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

In the 61st minute, Zeigbo has a great chance in the middle of the box and he shoots it directly into the arms of the keeper.

Domenico Toscano comes on to replace Zeigbo in the 63rd minute. I move Toscano to MR and Barbisan to DM.

A huge save by Tormen on a one-on-one keeps us a goal up in hte 66th minute.

I bring in Alberto Giuliatto to replace Cacciaglia in the midfield and Medhi Kabine replaces Sessolo up front in the 76th minute.

We get the last good chance to score when, in the 86th minute, Toscano brings the ball down the right wing and sends a nice cross to Kabine who is unable to put it away.

I win my first ever match 1-0.

Postgame notes:
  • Glad to see that we didn't pick up 6 cards today like last week.
  • Not sure if I'll stay with the 4-4-2 or go back to my 3-5-2 on Wed.
  • Toscano picked up a knock during the game, but showed no ill effects afterwards.

Tormen continues to show why he is the starting keeper with a brilliant one-on-one save in the 3rd minute. However, Lagnano is able to put one in the net 4 minutes later when Collitorti finished off the hard work by Sorli.

In the 38th minute, a foul by Rigo in the box leads to a penalty shot. Bifini burys it and we are down by 2.

The score remains 0-2 at the half and the shots are even at 3. We lead in possession 51/49. Rigo and Kabine have rough halves with a rating of 5 each.

I send in Kenneth Zeigbo to replace Kabine in the 64th minute. Roberto Roverato is also brought in and Cacciaglia leaves with a knock.

Zeigbo gets one good chance to score but he puts it wide and we really can not create any opportunities the rest of the way.

We lose 0-2.

Shots: Belluno 6 - 7 Lagnano
Sot: Belluno 2 - 5 Lagnano
Corners: Belluno 1 - 3 Lagnano
Fouls: Belluno 8 - 6 Lagnano

MoM: Andrea Marconi (9) One goal and one assist

Postgame Notes:
  • Since only 2 days passed since our last game I gave most of the backups starts.
  • Everyone that saw time received a 7 rating except Kabine's 5 and Tormen's 6.
  • De Angelis picked up a yellow card

October Update

The Belluno board of directors are still sure that they made the right choice in appointing me as manager.

They are satisfied with the club's current financial status.

The Belluno supporters are waiting to see what effect my management style has on the club's fortunes.

Forgot to mention earlier, but the supporters expect a safe midtable finish this season.

A corner in the 19th minute goes into our box and is met by the hand of Luca Masiero for a penalty. Lambrughi bangs it into the back of the net for his first goal.

The first half comes to an end and we trail 0-1. We also only have 2 shots to their 6 shots. Possession is 51/49 in favor of Pizzighettone.

In the 64th minute, I send in Enrico Rigo and Bruno Carnelossi and call off Gabriele Barbisan and Igor De Mattia. At the same time, I switch to a 4-4-2 formation.

In the 74th minute, Zanoletti had a chance with a free kick 20 yards out and he put it just wide.

De Angelis replaced Sessolo in the 81st minute. I'm looking for him to give me a solid effort and to create a couple of chances with his fresh legs.

De Angelis gets called for offsides twice in the next 11 minutes, but does not help us create any chances and the final whistle blows.

We lose for the 2nd game in a row. This time 0-1.

Shots: Belluno 6 - 11 Pizzighettone
Sot: Belluno 2 - 5 Pizzighettone
Corners: Belluno 2 - 7 Pizzighettone
Fouls: Belluno 11 - 9 Pizzighettone

MoM: Andrea Basso (8) 1st of season, he won 8/13 tackles and 7/10 headers

Postgame Notes:
  • A look at the player ratings and it would be hard to tell that we lost. However, a look at possession shows that we spent too much time in our own half trying to defend.
  • So the 4-4-2 didn't really generate much for me and the 3-5-2 didn't do much either.

(D/M R) Gabriele Barbisan was named to the Serie C2/A team of the week.

(M C) Daniele Cacciaglia twisted his knee during practice and will be out for about a week.

Our next game is not unitl the 17th. I've listed a bunch of guys available for loans and some for transfers to get some income and to lower my wages. Still waiting to see if anyone bites.

My scout found (M L) Alessandro Avina. He is 21 and is valued at $28K and would make a nice addition to Belluno.

In the game's 10th minute, Portosummaga's GK Visentin has to leave due to an injury that he suffered.

The first half ends and the game is tied 0-0. Both teams only have 2 shots and it has been very uneventful. I'm glad to see that my 3-5-2 is not losing again, but then again we are still tied with the 15th palce team.

We come right out of the half and the small tactical change pays off. We put together 7 or 8 passes in a row leading to a goal by Gilberto Zanoletti on a pass from Domenico Toscano.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

In the 50th minute, Roverato has to leave the game due to an injury.
Giuliatto goes in on the left flank.

Masiero nearly scores on a free kick from the top of the box in the 58th minute. It took an excellent effort by Portosummaga's GK to keep that one out of the net.

I decide to make two subsititutions in the 70th minute. Kabine and Carnelossi come on to replace Zeigo and Toscano.

2 minutes into his appearance, Kabine receives a nice pass from Sessolo and he is able to beat his defender into the box and put it past the keeper.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

We end our losing skid with a nice 2-0 victory at home.

Shots: Belluno 5 - 3 Portosummaga
Sot: Belluno 3 - 0 Portosummaga
Corners: Belluno 2 - 1 Portosummaga
Fouls: Belluno 12 - 15 Portosummaga

MoM: Matteo Nichele (8)

Postgame Notes:
  • Yea, the 3-5-2 worked.
  • Roverato injured his chest during the match and will miss a week of action.

Before the game starts, I call over Masiero and tell him to move to centerback and have him send Basso to the left side of the defense. I want Masiero to hound Soragna all game.

Amazing. In the 5th minute, Casale's Lazzaro sends in a cross and we have 3 guys there to make a play, but Soragna goes up and puts it past Tormen for the goal.

Masiero has a chance in the 7th minute to make amends for allowing Soragna beat him earlier, but his freekick from 23 yds. out hits the side netting.

DAMN!! I throw down my clipboard and start screaming at Kabine in the 13th minute. Masiero sent a perfect longball and it was well timed to ensure that nobody was offsides. Kabine was the only player in the box along with the keeper yet he was unable to put it away. Talk about wasting his opportunity as a starter.

I think he heard me, because in the 36th minute Sessolo was able to hold up play and drop a nice pass to Kabine who hit a one timer into the back of the net to tie the match.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

Halftime comes and it's all tied at 1. We have been outshot 6-3 but Soragna has only one shot. Yea he scored, but he hasn't gotten to unleash another one since. Masiero and the defensive unit is also doing a good job beating him up as Soragna has been fouled 5 times.

Tormen got lucky in the 59th minute. He was beat on a shot by Lazzaro but it hit the post and the follow up shot was clean over the bar.

In the 62nd minute, I make a double sub. sending in De Angelis and Carnelossi for Cacciaglia and Kabine.

The 76th minute saw Sessolo bring the ball into the area and set up De Angelis with a pretty pass and he smashed it past the keeper.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

I tell the team to pull back a bit and in the 81st minute, I bring on an extra defender. De Bortolli in for Sessolo. We are now playing a 4-5-1.

In the 85th minute, a corner from the left side gets into the six yard box and sits their for a few seconds before we can clear it out. The ensuing corner from the right goes to the top of the box and a blast by Capecchi is tipped over the bar by Tormen. The next corner comes into the middle of the area and Marangoni gets a clean look and Tormen makes a diving save to his right and the rebound is cleared out. Finally, we are able to clear the 4th corner attempt out and relieve some of the pressure.

The final whistle blows and we leave with a 2-1 road win.

Shots: Belluno 6 - 13 Casale
Sot: Belluno 2 - 6 Casale
Corners: Belluno 2 - 6 Casale
Fouls: Belluno 9 - 8 Casale

MoM: Daniele Tormen (9) His 3rd of the season. For a guy with a 5 rating in the first half, Tormen showed his determination in the 2nd half and won this game for us.

Postgame Notes:
  • I'm really proud that we were able to come from behind and win on the road.
  • Their keeper ended up with a 5 rating.
  • This is now 2 in a row. Can we make it 3?
If any readers want to know any more info about a player or a game, just let me know. I'll try to answer any questions about my team as best I can without going into exact ratings.

Zanoletti draws a penalty in the 4th minute and Masiero takes the shot. He steps up the the spot and drills the ball over the net.

Tormen makes a nice save in the 17th minute to keep it tied 0-0.

Both teams had a lot of opportunities to score in the first half, but nonetheless it is 0-0. Sanremese outshot us 7-6 and once again Tormen is keeping us in the game with some fine saves and some good positioning that forced some wide shots.

Sessolo setup a nice shot for Toscano in the 49th minute, but it was sent wide.

Lorieri found himself one-on-one with Tormen in the 60th minute and he was able to find the net for Sanremese.

Zeigbo replaces De Angelis in the 61st minute.

Carnelossi goes on to replace Toscano on the right wing in the 68th minute.

Kabine goes in for Sessolo in the 82nd minute. Hopefully, another pair of fresh legs up front can get us an equaliser.

Kabine gets a chance in the 90th minute, but he puts the ball wide.

Our win streak is halted on Halloween with a 0-1 loss.

Postgame Notes:
  • Basso and De Mattia were the best player's on the pitch for us today. They each received an 8 for their efforts.
  • We outclassed them today except for the most important stat. We won more headers and tackles and our passing was more efficient too.
  • Gilberto Zanoletti twisted his knee and will be out for 2 weeks.

  • Carnelossi also gets a start due to the injury to our normal AM Zanoletti.

In the 3rd minute, Tormen came charging out from his line to go after a ball that was going to land about 25 yds. out. Palazzolo's Barbieri met it with his head first and he easily directed it into the open net.

We continue to get chances but then we get some bad news to end the half. Hothead, De Angelis gets in an argument with Giuseppe Sguizzato and he gets two yellow cards in succession in the 45th minute.

We dominate the half with 62% possession, but just can't put one in the net. The score at the half is 0-1 and we have outshot Palazzolo 5-3.

I bring on Sessolo in the 63rd minute to replace Ziegbo, who is more and more not showing that he is worth $4000/wk.

In the game's 67th minute, a beautiful pass by Roverato is taken in the box by Carnelossi and he puts it in the back of the net to tie the game.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

I make two changes in the 76th minute. Masiero comes on for Rigo and Giuliatto replaces Carnelossi.

Roverato gets hurt for the 2nd time in a game this season and is forced to leave the field. I'm out of subs so we will have to play the last 6 minutes two men down. I instruct the squad to play defensive and I hope to get out of this one with a tie.

I stop holding my breath as the whistle blows and we end up with a 1-1 tie in a game that we should have won. Of course, I'm very glad that we were able to get that one goal with only 10 guys on the field.

Shots: Belluno 12 - 6 Palazzolo
Sot: Belluno 7 - 2 Palazzolo
Corners: Belluno 8 - 0 Palazzolo
Fouls: Belluno 9 - 13 Palazzolo

MoM: Bruno Carnelossi (7) His first of the season. Carnelossi scored his first goal of the year and he completed 13/16 passes and put all 3 of his shots on goal.

Postgame Notes:
  • Tormen had a brutal game and was at a 5 for most until his rating bumped to a 6 very late.
  • Zeigbo put up a 5 and I hope that I can unload this guy soon even though he is my translator.
  • We ended up having 58% possession and we played half the game a man down.
  • Roverato pulled a hammy and will be out for 3 weeks this time.

The 27th minute saw us in an unfamiliar position. We were suddenly a man up as Biellese's Bongiovanni was sent off with his 2nd yellow card of the match. Masiero hit the post on the ensuing free kick. Sooner or later he is going to put one of these home.

De Mattia picks up a knock in the 33rd minute and has to be replaced. I move Barbisan to DM and put De Bortoli into the game at the right fullback position.

The half ends and this one is still scoreless. We are dominating possession with 57% control of the ball, but we are not creating chances. We have been outshot so far 2-6.

In the 62nd minute, Cacciaglia sent in a cross towards the far post for Sessolo, but it was too high and went straight into the net.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

In the 64th minute, I send Borriero in for Sessolo and switch our tactics to a 4-5-1.

I use my last sub in the 81st minute. I call Zeigbo off and place Kabine in his place.

We had a nice opportunity to go up 2-0 in the 88th minute when Cacciaglia received a nice pass from Zanoletti on the wing. The shot was on target, but was deflected over the bar by the keeper.

Biellese had a chance to tie it in the 93rd minute, but Stefano Maino put the ball wide.

The whistle blows and we have a 1-0 victory.

Shots: Belluno 10 - 9 Biellese

Fouls: Belluno 14 - 16 Biellese

MoM: Gilberto Zanoletti (8) His first MoM of the season. He completed 82% of his passes and 7 of those were key passes.

Postgame Notes:
  • Sessolo made his 50th career league app.
  • We ended the game with 59% possession.
  • Carnelossi and Giuliatto also earned 8's for their efforts.
  • De Mattia suffered a twisted knee during the match and will miss two weeks.

(AM RL) Gilberto Zanoletti and (AM L) Alberto Giuliatto are both named to the Serie C2/A team of the week.

November 23, 2004

A local newspaper reports that Giulatto has Belluno fans delighted over his recent play.

Question for anyone reading:
Giuliatto is co-owned by myself and another team. How does this work? Does one team eventually get full control and who gets the money if he is transfered?

  • Montichiari like to use a 4-4-2 attacking formation. I will be using my 3-5-2 with Sessolo playing in the AM position and Barbisan will be filling in for De Mattia in the DM position.

A very boring first half is played and it's 0-0. We have been outshot 1-3 so far. I decide to make no changes at the half, but I do tell the guys to pick up their game and get more aggressive.

I bring on Cacciglia in the 66th minute for Sessolo who obviously likes playing a littler closer to the opponents end line.

Cossato had a breakaway chance in the 67th minute but the on rushing Tormen forced him to put it wide.

I call off Zeigbo in the 78th minute and send on Kabine.

The injuries continue to mount as Zanoletti is forced to exit in the 93rd minute. Toscano is sent on to replace him.

The match ends in a scoreless tie.

  • Masiero also had a good game with 100% headers won and 7 interceptions.
  • We won overall possession 52-48, but Montichiari won midfield 27-19.
  • Zanoletti's injury turns out to be a strained groin and he is out for 2 weeks.

Pro Sesto dominates the first 20-25 minutes of the game generating chance after chance. Then in the 38th minute, Sessolo made a fine run into the box, but his shot sailed over the bar.

The score at halftime was 0-0. We have been outshot 5-10 and they have 54% of the possession and 28% of it is in our own half.

An excellent long ball by Borriero sent Toscano down the right side of the pitch in the 47th minute. Toscano gathered the ball and instead of waiting for help he sent it towards the six yard box. It took a deflection off of Pro Sesto's Caliari and it went into the net for an own goal.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

In the 64th minute, Toscano was replaced by De Bortoli. I changed up my tactics and we are now in a 4-4-2.

In the game's 67th minute, Rota hit 3.4M dollar man, Luca Antonini in the box and Antonini put it in the net. Luca is on loan from Milan.

La Rocca puts Pro Sesto up by 1 with a goal in the 79th minute.

In the 80th minute, I bring on some fresh legs to see if we can tie this match back up. Zeigbo for Sessolo and Roverato for Giuliatto.

Hothead De Angelis gets another card for arguing with a referee about a call.

Carnelossi is called for a handball in the box in the 92nd minute. However, Tormen makes the save and also saves the follow up shot.

The game ends 2-1 in favor of Pro Sesto.

Shots: Belluno 8 - 18 Pro Sesto
Sot: Belluno 3 - 7 Pro Sesto
Corners: Belluno 3 - 9 Pro Sesto
Fouls: Belluno 13 - 11 Pro Sesto

MoM: Daniele Tormen (9) His 4th of the season.

Postgame Notes:
  • Our defense could not match their offense. They had a 28%-14% possession advantage in our half of the field.
  • $3.4M man, Luca Antonini earned a 9 for his efforts.

Sessolo gets the first good chance in the 18th minute off a pass from Giuliatto, but it's knocked away by keeper Guido Lippi.

Finally! In the 38th minute, Luca Masiero drives a free kick from 25 yards out into the back of the net. This was a long time coming for him.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

We go to the half up by 1. We have held them to only 1 shot and we have gotten off 3 ourselves. Referee
Trentalange has not made many friends as the player's keep arguing his calls. He's given out 3 cards so far; Toscano is the only player of mine to get one.

De Mattia comes into for the first time since his injury last month. He replaces Barbisan in the 57th minute.

Valenzana get a couple of chances in the next 10 minutes but they can't get anything on goal.

69' Kabine replaces Zeigbo.

Valenzana replaces Scapini in the 72nd minute. He leaves the match with a 4 rating. Masiero did one hell of a job on him today.

Ugh! They draw level in the 77th minute off a nice cross.

Tormen makes an awesome one-on-one save to keep us tied in the 87th minute.

A freekick from 30 yards out in the 93' is sent into the box by Masiero. He finds Carnelossi, who then swivels on the ball and pounds it off the post!!!

The game ends in a draw.

Shots: Belluno 8 - 7 Valenzana
Sot: Belluno 4 - 3 Valenzana
Corners: Belluno 4 - 6 Valenzana
Fouls: Belluno 8 - 13 Valenzana

MoM: Luca Sapetti (8)

Postgame Notes:

  • Basso earns the only 8 for us today. Masiero did an awesome job shutting down their big gun.
  • We held 51% possession to their 49%.

Federico Bigatti scores in the 3rd minute and this is not what we need against a weaker opponent.

They are getting a lot of chances here in the first 20 minutes. They have a shot hit the bar off the head of Belluomini.

A free kick in the 35' leads to a cross from Giuliatto to De Angelis in the six and he heads it off the keeper into the net. The official ruling is an own goal on the Carpenedolo keeper.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

For the next 10 minutes, they continue to apply pressure and they finally break through again in the 45' with a goal by their leading scorer, Graziani.

This is the first time I can remember giving up 2 goals in the first half. We've been outshot 12-0. Still unclear on how De Angelis' header was not called a shot. They are killing us 26%-15% possession wise in our half.

I make a sub at the half. Zanoletti is having a bad game and he is replaced by Barbisan.

The first 15 minutes of the 2nd half are a repeat of the first. Continued pressure by Carpenedolo creates a couple of good chances, but they are unable to finish.

61' Roverato is sent in for Carnelossi.

Toscano comes on for De Mattia in the 79th minute in hopes of creating some offense.

The final whistle blows and we lose 1-2.

Sot: Belluno 0 - 5 Carpenedolo
Corners: Belluno 0 - 1 Carpenedolo
Fouls: Belluno 12 - 4 Carpenedolo

Postgame Notes:
  • This might be our worst performance under my helm. We seemed outclassed today.
  • Next time, I can see myself playing a 4-4-2 against this squad.
  • De Bortoli earned an 8 for this game and he had 11 interceptions.
  • This is a short week and we have a game on Thursday.

5' - We get a huge break as a two footed tackle is made by Marco Mugnaini. He gets one card for the tackle and another for arguing. We are now a man up. Come on boys, this is a game we must win now!!!

33' - Barbisan is upended by Olbia's Sotgia but there is no card given. Borriero comes to aid of his teammate and kicks Sotgia. The ref saw it and immediately sent Borriero off with a red card.

34' - The ensuing free kick from the Sotgia foul is taken by Roverato from 23 yards out to the left of goal. Bassob makes a nice read on it and gets to the ball first and he puts it into the net.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

36' - De Bortoli is sent on to replace Carnelossi and I tell the squad to change to a 4-3-2 formation.

43' - A terrific effort by Tormen kept us in the lead as he was able to knock a shot over the bar.

Roverato sets up Kabine twice in the next 4 minutes, but each time he puts the shot off target.

We take a 1-0 lead into half time. We have outshot Olbia 6-3 and we have 54% of the possession.

59' - I pull Kabine out and replace him with Sessolo.

63' - Roverato sets up Zeigbo with a fine cross, but Zeigbo is stopped point blank on his shot from about 11 yards out.

Massimo Baldini gets 3 chances in a row. Once he is stopped by Tormen and the other two were horrid attempts on goal.

78' - I go to a 4-4-1 formation as I sub in De Mattia for Zeigbo.

85' - Tormen makes another great save. This time on a shot off the foot of Sanda.

The next 8 minutes see both teams go up and down the field creating chances. I held my breath on a couple of those shots, but the defense and Tormen held steady.

We hold on for a big win 1-0.

Shots: Belluno 12 - 17 Olbia
Sot: Belluno 6 - 7 Olbia
Corners: Belluno 3 - 3 Olbia
Fouls: Belluno 8 - 14 Olbia

MoM: Luca Pastine (9)

Postgame Notes:
  • 4 players had a rating of 9 in this game that was mostly played 10 on 10. Tormen and Roverato each had a 9 for us.
  • Roverato was awesome this game, he had 4 key passes (1 assist) and 4 runs past the defense.
  • We ended up with 57% possession overall and 25%-11% in their zone.

I decide to not appeal the suspension of Borriero. I think it was just, seeing how he went up to the player in retaliation and kicked him.

December 25, 2004

We finally have our first transfer into the club. (M LC) Buonocore Davide will transfer for free from Loanesi. He has agreed to a deal worth $260 a week. The 19 yo. is described as a young, left-footed midfielder and should see a lot of action for our U-20 team. His transfer will go through on January 1st.

December 27, 2004

(M LC) Roberto Roverato is selected to the Serie C2/A team of the week for his efforts.

Borriero has been suspended for 3 games for his actions on Thursday.

December 30, 2004

I'm reminded that the contracts of Basso and Zeigbo both expire in 6 months.

DAVIDE CAN'T WAIT FOR DEBUT

New Belluno signing Buonocore Davide has said that he can't wait to break into the first team setup at Polisportivo.

The new signing from Loanesi told journalists that he didn't expect to play straight away but he hoped that if he gets his head down and works hard the head coach will reward him with a first team place soon enough.

Glad to see Davide is happy to join the club. I like his attitude and I hope that he shows that he belongs with his U-20 efforts.

January 2, 2005

We offer (D R) Teodro Banov $260/wk until 2008. He is a 17 yo. that we will get for free if he accepts our offer.

January 3, 2005

Daniele Cacciaglia strained ankle ligaments in training and has been ruled out for 4 weeks.

January 4, 2004

We complete the free transfer of 17 yo. (D R) Teodor Banev from Maritsa. This young full back has good marking skills and has a high pace to his game.

January 6, 2004

With the recent good play of (D RC) De Bortoli and the expensive wages made by (D RLC) Andrea Basso, I decide to TL Basso and he sells for $60k to Viterbese. I wish my team captain luck on his future endeavors. U-20 defender, (D C) Christian Sandri has also made a good impression and could see time as a backup for the first team.

On the same day, I make a bid for for (DM C) Luka Zinko. He is 21 yo. and is on the U-21 team for Slovenia.

January 7, 2004

We offer a contract to (S C) Aleksander Makaveev who we would get as a free transfer. The 19 yo. striker would jump right into the starting lineup if he signs and hopefully help us score some goals.

January 9, 2004

(D/M R) Gabriele Barbisan never showed me anything on the field and he is now leaving for the price of $32k to Prato.

12' - Alto Adige have a good chance to score, but the ball is shot very high over the net by Le Noci and Tormen doesn't have to worry about it.

14' - Zanoletti steps up to take the free kick from 25 yds. out in the middle of the field. His shot deflects off the wall and into the net.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

15' - Alto Adige take the ensuing kickoff right down the field and Tormen comes up with one of his fantastic one-on-one saves to keep us in the lead.

32' - Masiero's yellow card leads to a free kick that gets shot just over the bar.

35' - A nice move by Spagnolli makes a move past Rigo and blasts the shot past Tormen into the net to tie the game.

The next 10 minutes, see Tormen make two saves and Roverato gets a chance, but he puts it wide.

The game is tied at 1 after 45 minutes. Alto Adige has 11 shots to our 7. We have 57% of the possession in the first half.

61' - De Angelis replaces Zeigbo who looks a little tired.

69' - A 50 yd. bomb creates a breakaway for Bachlechner off one of our corner kicks. He bears down on goal and jukes out the oncoming Tormen and the pursuing Toscano about 8 yds. from goal and he just walks the ball into the net.

82' - I bring on Carnelossi and U-20 player, Sebastiano Solagna, in for Toscano and De Mattia.

We do not create any chances over the last 12 minutes and we go on to lose 1-2. We've now only won 1 of our last 5 games.

Shots: Belluno 10 - 17 Alto Adige
Sot: Belluno 3 - 8 Alto Adige
Corners: Belluno 3 - 5 Alto Adige
Fouls: Belluno 4 - 18 Alto Adige

MoM: Luca Corradi (9)

Postgame Notes:
  • Tormen, De Bortoli and Rigo all received 8's for their efforts.
  • De Bortoli won 13/15 tackles and had 10 interceptions.
  • Rigo and Zeigbo played in their 50th league game while Solagna played in his first.

(D C) Enrico Rigo was named to the Serie C2/A team of the week.

(S C) Aleksander Makaveev is set to join Belluno. The $2k transfer should be well worth it for this 19 yo. with many physical talents. He will be in the starting lineup come Sunday against Pro Vercelli.

Before I had been sending my scout out to Italy only. This recent trip has sent him to Eastern Europe and he is finally finding some good young talent.

January 16, 2004

Real Madrid fire head coach Garcia Remon. They are in 5th place in the Spanish First Division and they were knocked out of the Champions League in the first group phase.

Question for anyone reading:
Giuliatto is co-owned by myself and another team. How does this work? Does one team eventually get full control and who gets the money if he is transfered?

At the end of the year, you and the other team can bid for each other's 50% share of him. if you both bid, higher bid ends up buying the player.

If an outside team wants to buy the player, they must buy out his rights from BOTH teams.. (agree a fee with both teams)

I think either side can put it off once by not bidding.

20' - A free kick from midfield by Masiero finds Roverato unmarked in the box and he puts it home for his first goal of the season.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

22' - Pro Vercelli's leading scorer, Alberto Bernardi, breaks through on goal but his shot hits the side of the net. We are really lucky to still be in the lead.

36' - Zanoletti sends in a fine cross from the right wing and it finds the head of Sessolo as he out jumped Negro Frer to win the ball. The shot sails past the keeper and into the net.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

37' - Makaveev gets his first chance to put a shot on goal and only a fine save by Marco Manis keeps it a 2-0 game.

The half ends and we find ourself with a 2 goal lead. We have been outshot 7-9 however. We do have an amazing 61% possession on the wet pitch.

59' - A blast from 17 yds. out by Egbedi pulls Pro Vercelli within 1.

62' - A short pass by Zanoletti finds Makaveev in the six on the left side of the keeper. He is able to turn with it and put it pass the keeper on the far post side. He scores in his debut!!!!
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

68' - Solagna is sent in to replace Roverato.

72' - Egdebi scores again from the top of the box to pull them within a goal again.

73' - Sandri, another U-20 player, comes in for Zanoletti and I change the squad to a 4-4-2 formation.

82' - Bernardi makes a couple of nice moves to free himself up for a shot and he ties it up.

85' - De Angelis comes on for Sessolo.

Ugh... A game that we had won, we let slip away and it ends in a 3-3 tie.

  • Makaveev debuted winning 10/11 headers, 2/2 shots on goal and 3 runs.
  • This could be a crushing tie as it feels more like a loss.

We offer (DM C) Luka Zinko a contract, however he says he does not want to join Belluno.

January 20, 2004

Zinko tells us that he does not like our first offer, but he is willing to negotiate. We offer him $1350/wk with a $2k signing bonus.

January 21, 2004

We terminate the loan contract that we had with Verona for the services to Gianluca De Angelis. His $950/wk salary will not be missed either. With the recent signing of Makaveev, there is no need to have 5 strikers on the main squad.

De Angelis was a hothead and in 8 league apps. he had 1 goal and 2 assists. He also had 5 yellow cards and 1 red.

January 22, 2004

Zinko blows us off and ends our talks with him.

January 23, 2004

We offer Bac $2k to transfer (AM C) Samuel Fuzik to Belluno.

10' - A nice pass by Makaveev across the box finds the foot of Giuliatto and he strikes it into the net for his first goal of the season.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

15' - Piovaccari loses Masiero and breaks into the box. He sends a nice cross over to De Nigris who is stoned by Tormen and the rebound is cleared out.

23' - Piovaccari beats Masiero to the ball on a cross into the box and his header bangs off the post.

39' - Makaveev has a chance but puts it wide. He jogs back upfield with his heads in his hands in disappointment for his effort. I let him know to keep his head in the game.

The half ends and we hold a 1-0 lead. The squad knows how important this game is especially after last week's failure to hold on to a 2 goal lead. We have outshot Monza 7-6 and we have 58% possession.

59' - I send in Toscano to replace Giuliatto and I have him switch over to the right wing.

67' - A long ball after our corner kick leads to a breakaway chance for Aubameyang, but once again Tormen is there to make a great save but this time he allows a rebound that falls at the feet of Piovanelli. He has nobody around him and he shoots it into the side netting.

74' - Sandri comes on for Makaveev and I change tactics to a 4-5-1. Let's hold on to this lead guys!

81' - Piovaccari gets another chance, but he puts it wide again. Masiero played well today, but he looks very tired and I sub him out for Cherubin (U-20). I tell Rigo to mark Piovaccari the rest of the game.

94:50' - I don't believe what I see. Camoni gets in behind the defense and puts it past Tormen for the equaliser. How many times are we going to blow leads in the 2nd half of matches.

We blow yet ANOTHER chance for a win and settle for a 1-1 tie.

Shots: Belluno 14 - 17 Monza
Sot: Belluno 5 - 6 Monza
Corners: Belluno 3 - 3 Monza
Fouls: Belluno 11 - 13 Monza

MoM: (GK) Giuseppe Dei Forti (9)

Postgame Notes:
  • I'm speechless in the locker room after the game. I almost feel like puking becuase I'm sick to my stomach to see my squad take it to the #1 team only to lose the victory so late in the match.
  • We end the game with 56% possession.

After the game, I get a message that Bolzano is interested in loaning (D R) Marco Romano, a player from my U-20 squad. They will pay his salary, $150/wk, for the remainder of the season. This works for me because my recent signing of Teodor Banev has taken most of Romano's PT.

January 25, 2004

Bac accepts our $2k bid for Fuzik. He wants $800/wk and we offer him $550/wk through 2008.

January 26, 2004

We make a $0 offer to Krsko for the services of (M C) Matej Sekoranja. The 18 yo. is dubbed as a young midfielder and is technically and mentally strong.

January 28, 2004

We offer Sekoranja a contract worth $300/wk. He was asking for $360/wk but right now he's not even being paid so $300 better be enough. I also decreased his annual increase to 5% from 10%.

We make a $6k offer for Lanciano's (AM RLC) Andrea Conti. He is valued at $28k and I think the 27 yo. would be a nice addition if we can convince him to come to Belluno. The reason I'm unsure is because he is not fully scouted.

We make a $4k offer to Imolese for (SW/D RC) Mattia Mela. The 23 yo. is valued at $10k and is very strong in the air.

Fuzik rejects our first offer and this time we offer him $650/wk with a $2k signing bonus. This better be enough seeing how he is only making $150/wk right now.

January 29, 2005

My offer for Conti is accepted, but my Asst. manager says that I should not waste my time so I withdraw my offer.

My offer for Mela is accepted and we offer him $1200/wk which is what he wanted.

January 30, 2005

Sekronja
accepts our offer and the 18 yo. is now a member of the club.

Mela accepts our contract terms and he is now a member of the club.

I'm reminded that the contracts of Toscano and Kabine expire in 6 months. I offer Kabine a new contract worth $500/wk until 2007.

Fuzik rejects our offer again. I raise his bouns to $6k and keep him at $650/wk.

I make sure my guys know that we need to keep our passes short and low in these windy conditions.

21' - Masucci sends a cross into the box for Federici, but Vianello comes over and plays the ball and it goes off him in a weird redirection and ends up in the net.

We end the half down 0-1, but we have had plenty of chances to score. We have 9 shots to their 4 and we have 52% possession. De Bortoli had a good first half for us as he continues to take command of the right side of our defense.

51' - A fine strike by Falconi puts us down by 2.

61' - Giuliatto is brought on for Sekoranja.

72' - Toscano and Kabine are brought on for De Mattia and Makaveev.

85' - We work up the ball on the left side. Masiero sends Giuliatto down the flank and his cross finds Zeigbo in the box. The keeper comes out to intercept, but Zeigbo is there first and he puts it home for his first goal for Belluno.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

89' - Carnelossi finds himself with a go at goal and he puts it over. That should have tied it for us.

We give a good effort, but just run out of time and we lose 1-2 on the road.

Postgame Notes:
  • De Bortoli was our best player today as he won 12/13 headers and had 6 interceptions.
  • Roverato looks a lot more comfortable in the center of midfield rather than on the wing.
  • We need a win badly.

(DM C) Alessio Sestu accepts our offer and will transfer from Treviso to Belluno on August 1st. I did not mention him, but I approached to sign him on the 27th. He is 21 and is valued at $20k. He is super aggressive and his tackling skill is also extremely high. Should be a very nice addition to our squad next season.

Fuzik likes our last offer and has agreed to join us.

We dominate much of the first half and in the 42' a misplay by Ivrea's Degli Esposti gives Zeigbo free reign on the left flank. He sends a cross into the box and Giulliatto is there to win the header and he bounces off of Russo and into the net for an own goal.
GOOOAAAALLLLLLL Belluno!!!!

45' - Zanoletti finds Sekoranja in the box alone, but he puts it over the bar.

We go to the half with a 1-0 lead. We have a 3-1 lead in shots on the stat sheet. We also have 52% possession. Now comes the dreaded 2nd half...

49' - De Mattia gets a rare chance on a corner, but Russo comes up with a nice save.

55' - A long pass finds Andrieni behind our line and he buries down 1-on-1 with Tormen and he buries it into the net to tie the game.

78' - Masiero shuts down Artico and as soon as he leaves I take out Masiero for Rigo. Fuzik is also sent in to make his debut and he replaces Sekoranja.

We don't threaten Ivrea at all during the 2nd half and our jinx continues. We are having serious issues closing out games as we tie another winnable game.

Shots: Belluno 8 - 5 Ivrea
Sot: Belluno 2 - 2 Ivrea
Corners: Belluno 6 - 3 Ivrea
Fouls: Belluno 8 - 22 Ivrea

MoM: Kenneth Zeigbo (8) 1st of season. He had 4 runs past the defense and was credited for the assist on the own goal

Postgame Notes:
  • Artico ended the game with a 4 as he was shut down by Masiero.
  • De Bortoli put up another 8 and the media will hear about his good run recently.
  • Our winless streak extends to 5 games.

I lost my game data from January 25th to February 13th.

I'm going back right now trying to duplicate all the moves I made.

I hope that the results don't change.

I replayed both games with the same tactics and lineups as much as possible. Only changes were done due to new injuries.

This time we lost 0-1 to Sassuolo.

We played Ivrea again and again we scored first on an own goal by their GK Russo. Very odd IMO. The game ends up being a blowout and we win 3-0.
