I've only watched the last 2 seasons but TAR 6 was much worse than TAR 5.

They are the only reason I am going to watch. Boston Rob is my all-time favorite survivor ( based on skill, not looks). I thinki t is a brilliant move for the amazing race to put them on, think of the crossover they are going to get.

this will be the second time they took a cbs show and put them on amazing race.

the first one was amazing race 5 when they put one of the girl Allison that was on Big Brother with her Boyfriend.

I've never watched before but may give it a try because of Boston Rob and whats-her-name.

But does this show give Rob any opportunity to lie, cheat and backstab? Or is it a pure competition of skill?

Gee, they only won a ton of money on Survivor. Let's put them up against a bunch of non-celebrities and see if they can win a ton MORE money! Hurrah!

Actually, I don't really care one way or the other who wins, and it doesn't bother me that the two people from Survivor are on this show too. I just don't have the stomach for some of these reality shows. I know there are only one or two food challenges in each of the races, but if I want to watch people stuff their faces full of disgusting items and then puke it up, I'll just hang out at the cheapo liquor store down the street from my house. I don't really need to watch this kind of stuff around the time I'm trying to eat my dinner. Fuck The Amazing Race. Fuck The Amazing Race with a shovel.

Enjoy the show, guys.

He doesn't have as big an opportunity to lie, cheat or backstab, but there are small ways he can do it.

The only parts they could lie in is by misleading a team. Like tell them the clue is in one direction when it is in the other direction. I know one team did that last season.

Teams can also try to get an advantage, like in last season one of the teams had a guy pretend he was mentally handicapped to get to the front of the line.

It was a pretty good episode, but these 2 hour long season premieres just seem too long to me.

So far I'm obviously rooting for Rob and Amber and they had a good first leg. The gay kid belongs on survivor the way he's been lying to everyone. I hope him and his mom are eliminated quickly. Hopefully, the two female "friends" leave soon after them.

Nice to see that the blondes live up to their stereotype by almost getting into an accident while driving in LA.

Yea, the hillbillies would have been fun to watch during the race. Loved it when the pulled the rickshaw (sp?) past the girl's team.

I have never watched before, but as a Survivor fanatic I have been hooked by the Rob/Amber team.. Rob is one of my top 2 or 3 favorite survivor competitors and he held true to form last night...

I love that they found a fan and totally used him through half of the episode...

Yeah, I'm disappointed the guys from South Carolina lost in round 1. They were easily the most intriguing of the group for me (from the get-go, when the one guy said, "I concur" they looked like they would surprise a few people). Unfortunately, they seemed just a little too laid-back.

would have been good to see the rednecks stay in the game a while just for the comedy factor. Absolutely loved the fact that CBS ran subtitles whenever they spoke so you could understand what they said. Sadly as a SC transplant for a few years now, I could understand much of it. But if it had to be between them and the POW/beauty queen, then I glad they lost. I would have predicted the older couple to go out first, they seem like the weakest older couple ever in Amazing Race.

I understand why CBS put them in the game, but I'm not a fan of Rob and Amber being in the game. They've had their 15 minutes of fame already, let someone else had it. I'd rather see new people. Now if it was an "All-Star" version of Amazing Race, then it would be fine.

Other than the POW, I'm not sure I'm rooting for or against anyone at the moment-okay perhaps the guy who kept calling his partner weak I don't want to see win. I can see why they are a "on and off again" couple. This group seems bland overall so far. I think they need to shake up the rules a bit to generate new excitement for the game.

Agree. Those guys were my early favorites, as one of them looked like a shorter, fatter version of The Undertaker (of WWE/F Fame). They seemed to be reasonably smart and could've played it to the end. I think they just had some unfortunate luck.

Now, I'm rooting for the blondes. They have some big bazookas and are fun to watch.

My first thought of Rob and Amber receiving help because of their Survivor fame was that it was unfair. What if Britney Spears ran the race and received help because she was famous? Then after a little thought, I was okay with it. I think it was the same as if two hot chicks (blondes) received help because they're hot. You gotta use what you got!

It's interesting the vitriol Rob and Amber are seeing - in the game and here. I admit I rarely watch Survivor (in fact, I knew they were from Survivor, but I didn't know they won). On the surface, you wonder why they'd be on another show with the potential to win another $1 million - it's rather distasteful. However, if I won $1 million and then a couple years later CBS called me to be on their show, I doubt I'd pass up the offer. As reality shows go, it's a blast and looks like a lot of fun. I think very few people would respond with, "No thanks, CBS - we've had our fun, let someone else have their chance."

If anything, dislike CBS for inviting them on the show. Don't blame them for not passing on an excellent opportunity.

Amber made one comment early on that got me thinking: I think they're doing this as one last wild fun ride before finally getting married, settling down, and starting a family.

Did anyone else get the feeling that CBS rigged this? Think about it. Rob and Amber are going to bring them ratings so they want to keep them around. They were in last place when this "fan" just happened to show up, seems like to much of a coincidence to me. Other than that I enjoyed the show.

They're well known, why is that such a coincidence? Also note that the "help" cost them extra money for that bus, and the other girls had a huge advantage with being able to speak Spanish.

Sorry my commentary is late, i finally watched episode 1 this afternoon.

I think if it were rigged, they would have told him how to open the trunk sooner.

Also, while I liked the SC guys too and were pretty amusing and smarter than you'd think, by not running over to the other flight, they really shot themselves in the foot and got what they had coming to them.

Rob and Amber dominated this leg of the race as much as one team can dominate a leg. Rob is always one step ahead of the other teams and if keeps his info to himself, then they might be better off in the long run.

Thought that the 2 trip technique would cost some teams, but it didn't. Funny, how all the scales at the market were rigged. HEHE.

Glad to see the brothers survive even though next week it looks like they run into trouble on a task.

I hope the whiny kid and his mom are the next to go. Ugh, can't stand them.

This was a big disappointment for me. The carpet munching chicks just don't do it for me. Now all I'm doing is watching it to see the mom/son combo lose and watch Rob and Amber mess with the other contestants.

On a side note, the red-haired chick and blonde do seem to be more than just "lifelong friends." Whenever I talked about the Barbies (the team booted last night), I called them lesbians. My wife would correct me by saying, "They're not the lesbians." I'd reply with: "They are in my mind."

Don't know where I've heard that before, but I figured it was apropos.

I hate to be insensitive, but why besides demographics do these reality shows keep putting these 60+ year olds on these shows. They *never* do well and are not really competitive.

Rudy made it to the Final Three on the original Survivor, and the older couple on Amazing Race 6 actually made it pretty far in.

In a strange sense, I'm actually enjoying watching Rob being a total bastard to everyone. He definitely has brought his cutthroat mentality over from Survivor and it's been a hoot to watch him screw with everyone else. (Guess that speaks volumes of what I think of the other teams, really...none of the others seem that great to me for one reason or another....)
