Poker Odds question
Why is it that a higher pocket pair against overs has slightly better odds than the lower pocket pair? So why do ten's create a bigger favorite over AJ than two's? It seems to me that the cards you need to catch are equal odds of catching. He needs to catch an ace or a jack to win, seems simple.

Boards like 99883 kill the pocket twos where pocket tens would still win over AJ.

Also cards that catch the AJ Pocket pair (namely J, but also A with J) lead to more of a chance of a straight for the pocket 10's. Small, but it helps

I knew the answer to this. I learned it the first time my A2 with a flop of A2X , gave me all the advantage I needed over the other guy who was holding A-10. That was until the turn brought another "X", counterfeiting my second pair, and leaving me with a two kicker.
