Training up OCD's?

I'm considering switching training from scoring in a season or two, and I'm considering defending. I'm drawn to it because of the seemingly high profits, but I'm worried about the hit in midfield and offense that I would take.

This led me to consider training up OCD's (as well as regular defenders). I was thinking about buying 6 "regular" defense trainees (age and skill level to be determined later), and 4 young-ish guys (19-22) with brilliant-ish PM and passable/solid-ish defending, and training them up to ~outstanding/brilliant or so. I'd be playing 5 in the back, with defensive wingbacks, 2 OCD's, and an ECD.

I guess my questions are:

Does anybody know of any defense trainers who use or have used this strategy of training and using 2 OCD's in each game, and if so, can you point me to them? I'd like to examine their match ratings.

Has anybody seen guys of this type (roughly brill PM / brill DEF) on the TL, and if so, about what did they go for? I only see one guy on the TL now, with brill PM and outstanding DEF -- he's at $4.1 mil with a day to go still (his player ID is 19975944).

I'd appreciate any input or advice. Thanks!

I don't know about prices, but I am probably going to switch to def next season and this is an option I would take.

May I recommend you join the "Hard to Find" Federation. They might have info on that type of players. I just applied today.

dola, I would also consider getting some wingback trainees (ie : high wingers with some defending).

I'm currently going the other way around, using a newly acquired Formidable Defender with Passable PM and training him as my 6th PM trainee. Hopefully get me a nice return when I want to upgrade his defense.

Sounds like you'll need a high pm/high wing guy! May I suggest one of my very own!

Seriously though, your 'D' will rock, but if you're going to run a 5-4-1, you'll want that winger to carry a punch as well as add as much to the midfield as possible.

Also, consider having a high SP guy to maximize your ability on those 10% of the scoring opportunities. I'd think you'd be able to combine him into one of your new defenders very handily.

I train defending and I so far have tried to diversify my trainees. With the exception of a OCD. I just havent had the money to invest in a 19 year old stud playmaker.
I do have a divine set pieces guy and i drool every time i think about how much this guy is going to be worth in a few seasons even with excellent defending this guy is HAM rated over a million. just imagine when he hits Brilliant or so.

I would also recommend playing 442 in league games in order to not lose too much possession.
