nice, I guess. the folder thing makes a lot of sense.
I assume most people use the hack now to sort alphabetically anyway - I can't use the thing without it.

I should have posted about this. I've known about this since before the Super Bowl. Any DirecTV/TiVo peeps could have been tipped off and expecting slow-ass DirecTV to roll out the update...since it has been delayed a few times.

I like the folders idea. Guess I'll have to plug in my phone line again when the update is available, it's been unplugged for almost a year.

It gets the updates through a direcTv channel in the middle of the night) (meaning you can't use one of your tuners if you have a dual line to it. or can't watch live tv at all if you have a single line)

you do get a daily email from your system that the "System hasn't made a daily call in XXX days (mine are somewhere near 90 right now)

Wow... the three changes listed on that page have been in my regular series 2 TiVo ever since I bought it 15 months ago. I'm amazed that they weren't available on the DirecTv until now.

Daimyo,

The DirecTivo's were all on some varation of the 3.1.1 software. Folders and what not were introduced in software version 4.0 which is in the SA Tivo's like yours.

You should learn to hack your Tivo. The fakcall.tcl script will trick the Tivo into thinking it is making a successful call out every night.

If you want to hack it, you don't want the 6.2 update. You want to hack in 4.0 before that update comes along, else it gets tricky. You should check tivocommunity.com.

tivocommunity.com is not the place to go if you want to learn how to extract data off of your Tivo. The forums are dealdatabase.com are far better.

Where are you located? They were doing a testing rollout in SoCal, but I'd like to know if they've gone wider with it yet.
