The thread for boasting/bitching about your NCAA BBall Brackets

Did ok in my FOFC one.. 14 out of 16. (lost LSU and Pitt, but eh.. neither were going to the sweet 16.)

Joined the ESPN Page 2 Daily Quickie readers group, and despite being in the top 1% of all pickers with 15 out of 16, 50 readers got all 16 right, so I'm tied for 51st :P (out of roughly 6000)

14/16 BUT my two upsets in later rounds were screwed by the two teams that lost. I had Bama beating BC and UCLA beating Gonzaga. I still think eithor one of those teams could go down, but my sweet sixteen teams are now looking bad.

13-16. I'm very happy about that because I pick tournament games on name only. I know next to nothing on basketball. Other than the fact they play on a rectangular court and there are 5 people on each team. The fact that I can't shoot, dribble, or jump has a lot to do with it.

UTEP...hmm....JeeberD. That'll work. UCLA, Texas Tech...hmm, UCLA sounds more intimidating. Creighton...man, that just sounds cool. I'll pick them, too.

Other than that, my name only picking won the rest.

I don't know why I do these pools anymore. I've never one in my life and every upset I pick never happens and i seem to miss every 8/9 and 7/10 game. Therefore, I was 8/16 yesterday. I think a chimp could beat me.

I think I had 11/16, which isn't bad considering I filled my bracket out in 3.5 minutes.

8/16, which isn't bad considering I know NOTHING about college BB.

didn't even want to do one, since I won last year (after correctly picking the final four and each game from then on) but my co-workers forced me to do one. then again, I started off kind of poorly last year

What I really wanted to do was have my 5 year old fill out a bracket and compare mine to hers afterward. But I never got around to it.

A guy in my office took Farleigh-Dickinson over Illinois. At halftime he was looking like a freakin' genius.

Yeah, that's the other pool that should get started. Leader by halftime of the first round games.

Not bad. All of my losses were close games that could have gone either way in the last minute, so I'm not complaining. 12/16 on the first day.

My "official" one, the one I put an honest evaluative effort into on ESPN, is 12-4. Another bracket that I picked purely based on seed vs. seed records (random number chooses against percentage) is 15-1. Overall, I'm averaging 12-4 over the seven brackets I've entered in various places.

My wife picked her bracket based on taking colleges that her friends attended.

She is doing much better than I am.

20-4 in my official bracket. It's caught up with that other one that started out 15-1 and should pass it. That one has Northern Iowa in the Sweet Sixteen. Now averaging 18-6 overall. Time to see what the night will bring.

That's what I get for buying the hype on the Big (L)East. I had 'Cuse in the final four, but it was only because I didn't like any other team in the bracket.

I wouldn't worry much about it. I am sure most people had Syracuse going as far as you did.

i knew i couldn't pick both as an upset.. but i also knew whichever one i picked the other would surely lose.. so i took odu over michigan state

16-0 last night. (15-1 in one pool thanks to a screw up and hitting the arrow next to Iowa instead of Cincy)

26-2 so far. (Lost Minnesota - Iowa State and St. Mary's - Southern Illinois)

That said the final session tonight isn't looking good for me (2-2 with the games at the half)

I almost had them both... but decided I couldn't take them both and left UVM in there (I went to college with Coppenrath's brother, and he was my roommates best friend). Right now I'm not terribly happy I didn't stick with my first instinct on ODU.

Edit - BTW my bracket will all die this weekend... I have too many upsets in the Sweet 16. (I need WVU over Wake, UVM to win again, Wisc-Milwaukee again, and Utah all to pull off upsets to keep it going)

I'm torn... should I be happy that Bucknell knocked off Kansas to make things a little easier for UConn... or should I be pissed they knocked out the team I had beating UConn to get to the Elite 8?

I had 'Cuse in my final four...even though I thought their toughest game would be Vermont. I said if they could get by Vermont, then they could make the final four. No if=no then. I should listen to my instincts more

26-6 now on ESPN. I had alarm bells going off on the Syracuse game, but I couldn't pull the trigger. The Bucknell one was a bit of a surprise, though. Fortunately, I had both misses covered as I had picked MSU over Syracuse and took Wisconsin in an upset over Kansas. At this point, I have 15 of 16 Sweet Sixteen teams left (lost only Alabama).

The big explosion heard last night was my bracket exploding.

I knew Vermont would give Cuse everything they could handle, but I picked the Orange anyway. I had them heading to the Final four. I only lost two of my sweet sixteen picks (Kansas and Syracuse), but the damage has been done.
