Air Supply and Warren Zevon.....and they both go way against my usual tastes...........................but it gets worse.

to really get to the bottom of the Pop barrel, I was really into the Knack back in the day. I had "Get the Knack" hidden behind my Aerosmith, Nazereth, Thin Lizzy and Cheap Trick albums when it first came out, argh!!!

I'm not sure if this really fits in this thread or not, but an apparently straight (he's married) co-worker admitted at lunch yesterday that the only concert he's ever attended (he's 33) is a George Michael show.

I've only seen 4 concerts in my life

the one I don't like to admit is I saw the Monkees, Herman's Hermits and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap in Cleveland when I was 6 or 7.

I can't believe I liked the Monkees.

I'm not ashamed of any artist I like. Now, you might be ashamed of some of the artists I like, and vice versa, but that's not the question...

I can't imagine being ashamed of liking Prince, the man is a genius...and he rocks.

I have to second Air Supply though, it's the first band that popped into my mind when I heard the question.

Too many others, best left unknown..

I think another good question is bands you'r ashamed to dislike, I can think of more of those.

Wow - I saw that tour too - at Great Adventure, NJ. What year was that? (mid-eighties?) I was totally into the Monkees around then too. But that's not what I'm ashamed of.

What I am ashamed of is that I was into Peter Cetera back in the karate kid days. "I am a man who will fight for your honor. I'll be the heeeerroo you're dreaming of..."

Super Dola -

I'm surprised that my firends have never noticed how many gay acts I have in my CD collection. I'm currently watching/listening to Erasure's DVD with their 35 videos on it. I love Pet Shop Boys (my 2nd fav band). George Michael CDs? Check. There's been rumors about a member of Depeche Mode (my fav band). Of couse, Air Supply is gayer than a rainbow. Etc. If the guys I play Magic and D&D with ever realized the sheer amount of gay artists I have they'd rib me about it for six months straight.

Exactly. I'm not ashamed at all. If the rest of the world hates a musician I like, that's their problem, not mine.

I hear a song or artist I like, I don't have an issue with telling anyone that I like it.

Well if the link I found on Google is right it was 1986 which sounds about right.

Nothing to be ashamed of, mate. I've seen her 7 or 8 times in concert. Amazing voice. Don't be ashamed just because she's a chick.

Never be ashamed of ABBA...I saw the play with all the ABBA songs when I was in Vegas. It was really good (can't remember the title at this time, but it will come to me in a more lucid moment).
