Copolla not happy about Godfather video game...
Francis Ford Coppola (search) is hopping mad at Paramount (search) for turning his "Godfather" (search) into a violent video game.
Coppola, appearing on AMC's "Sunday Morning ShootOut" this Sunday (11 a.m. EDT), says he never gave his permission for the video game — not that he was even asked about it. "I knew nothing about it. They never asked me if I thought it was a good idea," he says. "I went and I took a look at what it was ... What they do is they use the characaters everyone knows and they hire those actors to be there and only to introduce very minor characters. And then for the next hour they shoot and kill each other. "I had absolutely nothing to do with the game and I disapprove," he says. "I think it's a misuse of film.

who cares what he thinks. It's not like he wrote the books or created the characters.

Violent movie = good
Violent game = bad Yeah, seems pretty consistent with the general opinion a lot of people have towards video games... |

That was my thought. He directed the movie, he didn't write the book or invent any of the characters. Who cares? Get a grip. |

I believe he's generally associated with the movie
This for me is just another reason to hate EA, for taking a classic movie and whoring it out as a cheap game |

Shouldn't you then hate Paramount just as much as well?

I think the game looks pretty good from the clips. Like Mafia except in the Godfather universe. |

that's crazy that The Godfather (search) is coming out with a Game (search). I wonder if it will be on all platforms, PS2 (search), X-box (search), and Gamecube (search).
