75 years is the longest ive ever had a franchise. Seems quite a bit more fun the first 50 years or so IMO.

OT: How long do you run franchises for in FoF?
Just out of curiosity. Right now I'm in 2061 with the Indianapolis Colts and I think thats the longest I ever kept with one Franchise, and I bought the 2k4 edition about a week after it came out.
So how often do you keep with a franchise? Whats the longest you ever kept with a franchise? |

I've had one go to 2065 before losing interest and now I have one going into 2023.

I know this doesn't answer your question but personally I wish there was an option to keep franchises/careers going from version to version. I recently fried my mobo and cpu (ended buying an ABIT AV8-3rd Eye and AMD64 3800+) so I lost all of my careers. I dont remember the longest I have ever ran however.
Question for you though, do you call your own plays, let the AI call the plays and watch the game, or do you just simply sim every game? |

I'll watch super bowls and some big playoff games, but other than that I'll sim most of the games. I'll change the gameplan settings though.
I remember one superbowl where my star QB (David Carr I believe) went down the first drive of the game. My 5th year back-up came in and lit it up for 4 TDs and 300+ yards. |

I will run a single team until I win at least 1 championship. That is usually under 10 seasons.
My longest career though is the first one I had for FOF2004. It's now in 2105 and still going. |

I always start careers saying im gonna call my own plays, usually only get a few seasons into it doing that though. I generally call all playoff games and 1 or 2 during the season. |

I had franchises with the original FOF that went for a century. With each subsequent version, that's dropped somewhat - not because the game is less fun, but because I grow attached to certain players, and when their career ends, it's almost like "Okay, time to start over. That career won't be the same anymore."

do you guys sim fast?
how long it takes you to finish a season? do some of you just sim to see the wins and lost record only and get to the offseason and do the same thing again next season, etc. i go slower, because i want to see whats happenign around the league, look at gamelogs, play by play logs for my team, check stats, etc. then check my injuries, scout my opponent, setup depth chart and gameplan. then sim again. i just cant get to know my league well, if i sim fast. |

Currently in my longest career, in 2048.
Started with the Saints, won 1 of 2 title games. Moved to the Giants, 1 of 2 in title games again. Moved then to the Lions (who finally offered me the job) from 2032-2043 the Lions win 6 titles and lost four. Yes, in a 10 year span the Lions only missed the title game twice. And that was with three different QB's!
