Can't say I've ever been to any B&B so I'm not much help.

Nope, I haven't had heard anything about it either. I don't know too much about the local B&Bs, although when Nancy's dad and stepmom want to get away from the hustle and bustle of retirement then go to The Elms in Excelsior Springs for the weekend. We've met them up there for breakfast when they're staying there and it's real nice.

I'll ask Nancy about this place in Osawatomie. She's the expert.

I actually work in Osawatomie. I drive by the place every day but I don't know much about it. Let me check with some of my coworkers and I will let you know.

I've been to the Elms and really enjoyed it. It's not something 'new and high tech', but it's romantic and a great escape.

BTW, have you considered the new one out by the racetrack? I think it is the Chateau Avalon

OK, I did some checking around. None of my coworkers have actually stayed there, but a few knew people that had and the reviews were not good. They had an open house walkthrough a few months ago and the reviews from that were not good either. Most of the people I asked said that if you are looking for a good B&B they would recommend going to Paola (about 10 miles north of Osawatomie).

There is one B&B called The Gingerbread House that was recommended by a couple of people that new the owner and is located in the town of Paola. hxxp://home.classicnet.net/gingerbreadhouse/

There is also one located outside of town called Canaan Oaks that "sounded like a cool place". hxxp://www.canaanoaks.com/

Summary: If you want to go to a B&B in this area I would stay away from Osawatomie, but the reviews on places in Paola have been good.

If you have any other questions, just let me know. Good luck!
