My future wife's friend. . .

. . . is going to be a guest on Oprah after writing a letter about how she loves Tom Cruise.

Discuss.

At least it's not your future wife, or your friend's future wife...

This gal's boyfriend plays poker with us once a month. I'm not sure he will like what we will say to him about this.

The future wife and I had a talk about Oprah. I let her know that if I am ever asked to be on Oprah, I'm not going. Nothing ever good happens when guys go on Oprah.

Meh, Oprah I think I could go on. Now if it's Springer, Povich, or Jenny Jones (is that show even still on?) then there's no chance of me going...

"Do you like/watch Oprah?" is one of the standards I have for women I meet.

Guess what the correct answer is.

The correct answer would be: "Only when I have a bottle of good tequila handy to drown out the bullshit. I'd rather just give you the best b.j. you've ever had in your life while you watch football."

Now if I ever meet that woman...

You really need to talk to John Galt about that.

OK, I don't choose to regularly watch Oprah, but it is one of the shows that my wife always wants to watch. But your statment above clearly shows that you dont' know how Oprah treats here guests. I have seen many times when she gives them cars, vacations, and other cool stuff. I would gladly face being on the show if I were to get some good stuff.

Yeah, and I'm sure she'll just be so shocked at the surprise. Imagine that, going on a high-profile talk show to discuss my infatuation with a movie star, and he just so happens to be in town during the taping, and Oprah was able to pull some strings for me!

The only decent Oprah I've ever seen, in terms of a positive outcome for a guy, was the one way back after Sleepless in Seattle where some 9-year old girl wrote Oprah about how her dad was like Hanks' character (the mother had apparently died), and Oprah set up a big "contest" for the guy to meet a new woman. When I was single, I wouldn't have minded someone doing a national search for eligible women for me, complete with a touching background story and everything. I don't know whatever came of it, but that would have been OK by me.

Well, it's on the background at my house a lot. BTW, Oprah on Tivo is a great babysittter when I want to play on the computer.

It seems to me that it is a civil discussion, but when I guy ends up on Oprah, it is because he cheated on the wife, has a drinking problem, doesn't want to marry her, or he gave her the Ron Mexico treatment. Sure, the male teachers got a slew of free gifts, some guys got cars, but these guys were in the studio audience. What I don't want to do is be is an invited guest.

If you don't get in trouble, then I'd have to think that the moderating here is totally arbitrary. Oh wait, it is.

When you post once a month, then it tends to fly under the radar. I even mentioned that Skydog looks like Frylock, and he did not even bust me on that.

Therefore, I will just post under Esquared1 for now on. I just need to remember to change this at home.

Otherwise, I guess if where put in the box, I might need to be put there for six months, just because I don't post that often. Not that I am asking for it, of course.

Yeah, the boxing didn't really affect me either -- 325 posts in 4 years isn't exactly noticeable. But still, if he's in a bad mood, he might want to show how cool he is, so you should pretend that you're really bothered by the punishment.

Raise your hand if you're still bitter about the way your gay engagement announcement turned out.

Wow, you're sure seeming bitter. I guess my sticking in the smilies for the slower crowd wasn't enough for you.

And for the record, it turned out exactly the way I wanted it -- people knew we got engaged and some had fun. Sheesh, get a life. Although that might be suggesting too much for someone that posts ten times a day.

Damnit, I knew I should have enclosed a sexy photo of myself with my letter to Oprah. Tom Cruise is still just out of reach!

burn.

I personally would go on Oprah because she gives cool stuff away sometimes. You might get a car out of it or something.
