Eagles without TO - your response?

So, amidst the continuing stories unfolding from Eagles camp, it's at least possible that they part ways with WR Terrell Owens, and head into this season without him. You kno the basic story.

So... in the event that happens...how does it affect your rooting interests?

I'm an Eagles fan through and through, and the division is still weak. Plus the Eagles tend to be pretty aware that this could be a problem and have probably a trick or two up the sleeve.

I'm not concerned. Things got even better when Pinkie went down, because I thought he was horrible.

As a long time 49er fan, I would constantly defend TO by saying that on the field, no one plays harder. I think he's really gone too far this off-season, and he can't even be defended by virtue of his on-the-field habits.

The Eagles will be in trouble. No Pinkston and no Owens... McNabb might as well start spraying his puke all over his house right now.

As an addendum...

...whether or not he was defendable before is still a matter of opinion, methinks.

Not more horrible than your WR depth chart at the moment. Who is even out there on the veteran FA market?

Having said that, I can't see TO missing any regular season games. Can see him skipping pre-season, then him and Reid making up in time for him to play in the opener. Reid isn't stupid, and he knows his closing window on a championship takes a huge hit with nobody at WR.

Since I'm a Giants fan, how I feel about the Eagles is unaffected since I will always hate them. But, I also hate TO and I hope the Eagles screw him over as much as possible. That also accomplishes in hurting the Eagles chances to win since now that Pinkston is gone to injury, without TO, except for the potention of Lewis, the Eagles don't have any receivers. It's a win-win situation for me.

They should taunt the Ravens and try and trade him there again.

i love TO, i love when he showboats, but man, he makes it hard to defend him sometimes. the Eagles aren't better off without him yet i think they should make a stand to serve as a lesson to others.

The only thing the team can do without TO that they didn't do with him is win it all. Is that what it will take for people to think TO "got what he deserved for acting like he did?" I guess this would be similar to Garciaparra's leaving the Sox.

In that case, my rooting interests remain unaffected, because I'm not rooting for Philly to win the SB. There are half-dozen teams I'd rather see win it all.

I'll root for the Eagles no matter what. I think there chances to win will be much lower without T.O or Pinkston unless they can pull off a trade to acquire a very good WR.

I'm starting to become of the opinion that it's better to spread the money around to acquire several good receivers instead of breaking the bank on a single one.

Although the play-making abilities of the very top receivers are undeniable, they can be taken out of the game by a competent defense, and most teams will face competent defenses come the playoffs.

I had held this opinion before today, but then I saw this article, which also says the same thing.

I think that we need to get rid of him as soon as possible...I would like to see us get a good veteren receiver in his place, but I think our receivers are looking better than the pre-TO Eagles with Brown, Greg Lewis, and the other younger guys...

I am generally amused by TO, and even though he and his agent are dicking around the Eagles, I don't really feel any anger about it. Can't tell you why, I just don't. That said, I am 100% behind the Eagles standing their ground and not giving in to him. And I'll be rooting for them just as hard as I have been for the past twenty years.

IF I were to care at all about American Football, I suppose the Eagles dumping TO would make me root for them more. Personally, I think TO is the most overrated pansy to ever grace my TV...almost EVERY FREAKING WEEK on ESPN (BOOOOO!!!).

Why would the presence or absence of TO affect whether you root for the Eagles or not? Either you are an Eagles fan or not. Why would it matter who the WR is?

A more relevant question would be "Do the Eagles have a chance to win the super bowl without TO?"

There's some of those guys who you know can win games for ya. Terrell Owens has become one of those guys. The man did risk his career in the Super Bowl. I personally don't care much about what sports people do off the field, as long as they stay away from guns and drugs. But it's easy to say that, I'm not a coach or manager with the Eagles.

So, what did TO do wrong this time? Flirted with basketball again? Slacking at the training facilities? Are the "McNabb is nothing without me" stories back?

Pissed off all his teammates and set a bad example for the younger guys. The anti-Patriot and the answer to ensuring lighting in the bottle type success for a team.

Then again he is also a good representitive for your typical philly fan .
