pay for Insider, cheapo.

i don't see how these requests are any different from people asking for sites that have cracks and warez. if people are gonna get up in arms over illegal music downloads they should have the same feelings towards this.

Spend the $40 for an entire year. The ESPN Local is worth it alone.

Although I agree with HA, I have absolutely no intention of ever paying for this stuff and continue to hate the fact that they're charging for all of it now.

Edit: This is not to say that they don't have the right to charge for it so don't come back with that drivel. Of course they do. I just don't like it.

If you got your cable for free for years then one day had to pay for it, I bet you would hate it.

Hard to really paraphrase the whole thing without just reprinting all of it, but if you boil down the elements it's essentially defending Paul DePodesta, saying he's made some mistakes but has also suffered some bad luck, and decrying the way some want to paint the Bradley/Kent situation as an indictment of DePodesta and viewing it as evidence of the stereotype that he dehumanizes players when making his evaluations and deals.

Regarding Brian Cashman and the Yankees, he's praised for not mortgaging the future to give in to the panic of Yankee faithful, and look where they are now - squarely in the hunt for the AL East or the Wild Card. Conventional wisdom is that Cashman will leave after this season.

That's what I was thinking. I don't follow baseball that much, but I have seen the glamorization of Gammons over the years. It's gotten worse.

Well, I find two huge knocks against him these days that weren't around back in the day:
First, he's the posterboy for the NY/BOS-centric reporting. It was easy when the Red Sox were just another team but he's been feeling his oats the last few years since they've been in the spotlight.
Second, he's one of the biggest names out there and people think they can trust him to report things anonymously. Or at least that's what he thinks. The GMs just use him to disseminate rumors that benefit their team through the national media so he doesn't censor himself one bit because he loves to feel like he's an expert.
