I saw on the news last night that Bomar is gonna get the start against Tulsa. what are your thoughts about this? Im not sure that Bomar played much better in last weeks game, and both QB's had problems with the deep pass and throwing the ball in general.

Yeah, neither played well. But Thompson had quite a few more opportunities and likely got the vast majority of snaps in practice. Since he didn't take control, it's only fair to give Bomar the same chance.

That said, I think this might be a motivational thing more than anything. Thompson, while more consistent, just seems to lack fire. Bomar certainly has that, and nobody can argue about his talent. Some would say that Jason White didn't have fire either, and that's true. But White had a lot of guys around at that time that were competitors, fiery-type guys. This team seems like it really needs that right now.

Here's hoping for the best. Overall, though, I just think that there's no reason not to play him now. After that performance, it's clear OU's rebuilding. Why not give Bomar the time? He's the QB of the future.

I agree with pretty much all of this. Not to mention, Thompson just looked scared. I don't know if they need somebody firey or what, but they certainly don't need somebody who's scared.

What they need even more than that is a guy to make big plays. on offense. If you cannot throw the ball any, it doesnt matter if you have a great back. They will just stuff the box all day...
