UC Davis beats Stanford!

So I get up this morning, expecting to see that my alma mater, UC Davis, was blown out by Stanford last night. UCD just moved up to Division I-AA from Division II two years ago, and won't even be eligible for the Division I-AA playoffs until 2007. And we'd lost to New Hampshire and Portland State in the first two games of the season. It was starting to look like the streak of 35 consecutive winning seasons was in serious jeopardy.

Instead, I see that the Aggies rallied from a 17-0 deficit to win 20-17, the winning TD coming with 3 seconds left in the game.

All I can say is that Stanford must really be bad this year. But beating a Pac-10 team, even a bad one, is a big deal for a team that only started giving athletic scholarships a few years ago.

It'll be a nice little bonus when NDSU whoops them when they come to Fargo.

Terrible. Pathetic. The Stanford offense (particularly the offensive line) was just wretched. UC Davis deserved that win. They just played much, much better. Take into account Stanford scored twice off of Davis fumbles, and the Davis kicker missed 3 FG's, and it shouldn't have even been close. Please come back, Trent Edwards

Yeah but NDSU's volleyball team blows. Winless, haha.

But, on second thought....they can lose as long as it is always done in these shorts.

I'm trying to figure out that Stanford/UC Davis game. After that loss, combined with the Oregon loss, I thought this season was dead. However, they've won 3 games in a row, and may give UCLA a bit of a game next weekend. I guess it can be attributed to Trent Edwards getting knocked out of the game early, combined with an already anemic running game. Then you toss in a blown call by an official on what was shown by the replays as an INT by Davis on the last drive, and you still have no excuse for losing to a Div 1-AA team. Man they could be 5-1 now.
