Players playing out of position

My starting OLB just got injured in the first pre-season gmae, and is out for the year ( i think he was the SSLB). well in my oversight i realized i had no other SOLB but had 3 WSLB, 2 of them young draft picks. but instaed of one of them getting automatically put into the SSLB spot, my starting WSLB went into the spot vacated by my injured player. how can i get my other WSLB to play in the SSLB slot and not my starting WSLB and stay their permanently without changing thier positions.

i also have this problem with other slots ( wanting backup DT to be passrusher DE). everytime i change them they always go back to original positions set. even when i click that little box by their position

Just go to the Global Game Options and select "NO" for "Coach resets depth chart prior to each game"

You've got the wrong idea about what the box does for you. That's only there so you can hit 'scout recommend' while at the same time preventing the computer AI from tinkering with certain guys (that you've checkmarked).

Calabaza is right. It sounds like you've got the global options set in a way you'd rather not have them be.
