Saving Games in The Demo Version

Coaches,

I'm sorry for this rather silly sounding question, but are there any problems when saving a game using the downloaded demo version? I am still getting used to the Game and feeling my way around . I select the save game option on top of the Interface but I dont get any drop downs or anything. I dont have any list of games to load up, so it aint saving ?

What am I doing wrong?

i don't remember if the demo allows saving...does anyone?

Thanks for the info guys, at least I now know that I must buy the full version and that I wasn't making a mess of things.
