NCAA Week 5

Haven't seen a thread yet so figured it was good to start one.

Mizzou/Texas is off to a crazy 14-13 start before the 1st Q is even over but with Yankees/Sox having huge playoff implications, I'll be watching that mostly, even tho I hate both. Heck, with a lot of the playoff picture still muddy going into the last two days, I'm just not as interested in NCAA or NFL today and tomorrow.

It's possible shootout day for me with Mizzou/Texas early and listening on the radio to KU/Texas Tech late.

VTech v. WVU is a great game so far! This one looks like it'll go to the wire.

Jamaal Charles of Texas is the real deal. When he came in this season, he said he wanted to make UT fans forget about not landing Adrian Peterson. So far this season, he is backing that claim up.

Blake Powers passing line in Madison so far: 3-15, 77 yards, 1 td, 2 picks. His TD pass went for 83 yards, so take that out and it's 2-14, -6 yards, 2 picks.

3rd and 30 for Texas. VY runs for 33 yards. That is just mean.

I almost thought ABC was going to make a horrible mistake there. They announced that instead of showing the 4th quarter of the Texas-Missouri game, they were switching to the Michigan-Michigan State game after the break. Sure enough, after the commercials, it was the Michigan-Mich. St. game. For about 10 seconds. That was probably the amount of time it took for the switchboard to light up at the Austin affiliate of ABC...

Too bad for you Texans that you don't like to watch REAL football.

It's just a cardinal rule of sports programming. You NEVER break away to another game when the home team is still playing.

I'd do the same thing if I was Drew Stanton against U-M, then again I'm not concern with being nice to the Wolverines. So I guess I have no problem with what Vick did.

I guess I don't feel so bad about having to wait until 7pm CT for the TTech/KU game. And it's stupid that it's not even a tv game, instead A&M v Baylor is on

Is the entire Urban "spread offense" nothing more then little weak option pitches and flipping the ball to WR or RB in motion back the other way?

That is it. It is a glorified option, with many of the pitches going forward and counting as passes. It is different, and a bit tricky, but it is not going to set the world on fire.

That ball did make it to the goal-line in the Alabama game. Can we get a challenge?

Granted it's not even half a game, but Brody Coyle is easily the most accurate passer I've seen in college this year. I think he could throw a football through a keyhole while in a full sprint.

You just don't break in a game in the home areas of the teams playing. Texas and Missouri should have stayed with their game even if it is 100-0. Outside of these areas switching to the Michigan/Michigan State was the best idea.

If he didn't have the injury questions, and I was the Jets, I would take him.

You're witnessing the arrival of a national championship contender. And if it wasn't for his knee surgeries, Brodie Croyle would be a top 10 pick. That kid is talented, and someone will get a steal around the 4th round.

Oh, and to pimp myself, listen to the first inthebleachers podcast... i predicted Alabama for the SEC.

He was, but he tore his knee up his senior year. The kid is great, but just gets banged up.

I am *really* impressed with Croyle. He looks every bit as good as Leinart. He's made 3 or 4 PERFECT throws with a high degree of difficulty.

No, not at all. And the annoncers haven't referenced it at all in the 2nd quarter. They're just getting there asses kicked at the line of scrimmage on offense and defense.

Washington State is taking it to the Beavers, 30-13 just before halftime. Cougar WR Jason Hill is going berserk with 7 catches for 179 yards and a TD thusfar, while our stud RB Jerome Harrison already has 100+ yards and 3 TDS. YOWSA!
