Game should've been 19-6. Penalties didn't hurt as much (although there were a lot). Defense looks like it's gelling. Jordan had over 100 yards rushing. Nice. Nice. Nice.

They had road games against the defending Super Bowl Champions and the "other" team in the Super Bowl. I'd like to see how any team does against that.

I thought they looked pretty good. Jordan looked very good which was refreshing, I had some worries after our first 3 games.

Raiders will likely miss the playoffs. They should be 3-1 right now, but like the last couple seasons they blow games they should win.

Dude, I'm gonna report you for trolling.

You're right though. Should've beat the Eagles and Chiefs.

Yep, tough schedule. Chargers get the same deal, except throw in Pittsburgh.

Oh man, I had to laugh at this comment. You're kidding right? You gotta get through the Chargers first.

I'll agree with much of this. They have had a tough schedule. And they have a ton of talent. Their defense has really impressed me. Jordan had a great game today. Their special teams look pretty good.

All of that said, todays game makes it even more difficult for me to believe they'll win the division or go deep into the playoffs.

Nearly every important number went their way today. They held Drew Bledsoe to 11-26. Jordan rushed for 126 yards on nearly 5 yards an attempt. Moss had a big game. Collins completed 55% of his passes for 9.5 yards an attempt and didn't turn the ball over one time.

Yet they struggled to win this game. A few penalties here, a boneheaded play there, horrible third down effieciency and you have a cocktail that allowed the Cowboys to stay in the game.

And lets get real here. They have had a tough schedule, but it isn't an impossible one either. The Chiefs was a game they should have won easily. The Broncos (the team the Raiders are now chasing) pummeled the Chiefs at home. And Philly smacked them a week later proving it was no fluke. That's a home divisional game they lost.

The end of the season really sets up well for them, but their "tough" stretch isn't quite over yet. They host San Diego next after the bye week, a game that's going to tell us just how good they really are. A few weeks later they go on the road to KC in another test. I fully believe either Denver or SD (or both) will end up with 10 wins, possibly 11. That means Oakland is going to have to go 9-3 in their next 12. Possible? sure. Likely? I don't think so at the moment.

They beat SD in two weeks and I'll be a believer. If I had to pick that game today, I'd say SD beats em and they go to 1-4 with two divisional home losses. I think that'd end any divisional title hopes they may have.

Refreshing to get a win. But we still nearly gave it away in the end, which concerns me. Good teams will take it from you, if you let them hang around after you have thumped them all day. Charles got really sloppy in the end.

Only questionable call was a doozy. Sapp throws a struggling to get free Bledsoe to the ground and here comes the old roughing the passer hanky. Bledsoe is 6-5. If he gets free and uses his cannon to rocket the ball down the field he is a hero, and Sapp the goat for not wrapping up and bringing him down. How many times has Donavan Mcnabb done this. This rule needs some revisiting.

The Eagles game slipped through their fingers.

Good luck to your Raiders in climbing the ladder.

That wasn't questionable. The whistle had blown. Bledsoe was making NO attempt to get away. He wasn't struggling or trying to throw the ball at all. He'd clearly given up. Sapp still body slammed him. Of all the roughing the passer calls this year, that one and Nick Ferguson's idiotic hit on Trent Green in the Denver game are two of the most blatent roughing calls I've seen this year.

I disagree. While I was not there, I didn't hear a whistle blow. I think the announcers even said that the whistle didn't blow. IIRC, someone else tried to recover his "fumble" and started to run with it and that's when the whistle blew.

The whistle had blown long before. Both of the main announcers said it was clearly a late hit and unnecessary. Siragusa (sp?) was the only one who said it was clean. And of course, you as a Raider fan may remember when the goose did a very similar thing to Rich Gannon. . . it's no wonder he thought it was legal.

My guess is that Sapp will see a fine this week. The shot was clearly unnecessary and stupid. And if there was no whistle, go back and watch on TIVO and tell me why everyone but three Raiders stopped on the play. Bledsoe had already stopped fighting. The back had stopped blocking or moving in any meaningful way.

It was just a boneheaded play. Any player/team in the league would have been called for that. (hell, there have been far more ridiculous roughing the passer calls this year already)
