Ping: D.C Area Folks
My directing thesis production is going up next weekend. Its The Government Inspector a Russian farce. It runs from the 13th through the 16th. I would love some people on Tuesday and/or Wednesday and I can probably get you in free on those nights. The other nights I think tickets are 10 or 12 dollars.
There are a lot of laughs and hopefully a somewhat shocking ending. Its been almost three years of my life that I get to bring to conclusion and I'm really excited about the project. I know there are a lot of FOFC people in the Metro area and I can probably get you from almost anywhere to CUA if you are interested. Let me know through PM or in this thread and I'll get back to you. |

The website really gives very little info. I'll try to condense the plot.
A small town in Russia learns that a government inspector has been sent to investigate the town and its officials. The town officials, ranging from corrupt to incompetent, plan to visit a man that they suspect of being the inspector. The man the suspect is of course not the real inspector, but he plays into the officials' desires and everyone believes they have found the answer to their problems. The fake inspector leaves and the townspeople are left with the information that the real inspector has arrived. Its a classic of comedy and our version is very physical with falls, slaps crashing doors, ect. Its roughly a two-hour evening. The show is at CUA at the Hartke Theatre. If you know where the Basilica is we're two buildings down from there. If you don't, we're on Harewood which is off of Michigan near Michigan/Capital. Hope that helps. |

Last chance to see what has become a really good play!
Opening is tomorrow with a short reception afterwards and the play also runs Friday night Saturday night and Saturady and Sunday afternoon. Start times are 7:30 and 2:00 respectively. Tickets only 12.00!(Hell in D.C. that's just one mixed drink!) The box office number is 202-319-4000. Hartke Theatre is on Harewood, off Michigan at the corner with the Basilica. The theatre marquee is on the street and parking on the street is available and free. This has been a shitload of work, but I'm really confident that its both entertaing and thought provoking. And its probably my last theatre before I'm a father! If any of the D.C. folks come be sure and ask for me. I'd love to meet some of you guys. |

James,
I unfortunately missed this thread at the time, as I'm a big Gogol fan, but just came across it doing a random search. How did it go? |
