I have a song stuck in my head

....and i don't know the name of it. my remedy for getting songs out of my head is to listen to it many times until i'm tired of hearing it. there's this one song that routinely pops into my head, and i don't have the foggiest idea what it's called or who it's by. i only have one piece of info to help you assist me.

when the Red Sox won the WS last year, FOX played the song during the end credits. it's a mellow song, sung by a guy.

what is this friggin' song. aaaargh.

i just realized that if people wanted to fuck around with me, it'd be funny if everyone knew the name of the song and the artist, but gave me the name of some other song, like "Polka #5" by the Pittsburgh Polka All Stars, and i'd have no choice but to friggin listen to it to see if that's the song i'm talking about.

don't break my heart, guys, my achey breaky heart.

Are you humming it to yourself, or do you have a couple of lines of lyrics to help us out? I was in the middle of puking after seeing Drew Barrymore and That Dufus on the field when the Sox won, so I missed the ending credits.

i have the vocal melody, and i've heard someone here at work play the song once or twice over the past year. i'm not gonna be that guy who starts humming the vocal melody while the other person gives me a blank stare.

the song was played during the recap of the World Series, that's all i can say. i thought maybe some diehard Red Sox fans would know because that's one of the things you remember all the small details about cuz you expect it to never happen again

OK, I was just screwing around because I know that's the song CBS uses to close their NCAA tournament coverage in March... and it's the only song I could think of to relate to a sports, closing credits type of situation.

I doubt that's really it, though. Sorry.

Have you just tried to listen to other music? Is it that annoying or is it more like a piece of food that's stuck in your teeth that you can feel but eventually you get used to it until you can get home to use some dental floss?

the thing is, it's not like it's in my head all the time. it's just that it pops into my head like every other month. i like the song (or, what i can remember of the song) so much that i just wind up replaying the same snippet of song (which is like 10, 12 seconds, perhaps). since i don't know what the song is i can't get it, and if i can't get it i can't listen to it to get it out of my head. starting to border on annoying, actually. i might just walk into the office of the person i know would know it, and i'm gonna look like cthomer (a dweeb) humming the melody to him.

ok, i won't send you $50, but i'll think positive thoughts. they wont necessarily be positive thoughts about you, but now isn't the time for splitting hairs.

no guarentees though, cuz i dunno if they used the same song for the DVD credits and the TV credits.

nope...it's not anywhere on there. the end credits on the DVD are some orchestra-type piece, and the in-game footage doesn't have any musical songs

Well, I tried.

No luck on the music, although I can tell you who directed the coverage AND most every celebrity who was shown in a crowd shot.

Obviously, the song is "Drawing Down the Moon" by the Tea Party.
