Who is this guy? From his name, he sounds like an Irish folk singer.

I'm assuming he's some sort of younger version of Barry White, which means he's an R&B warbler, which means I have no interest in his music.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't be aware of him. He's been all over the charts just not of late. His voice is stupendous.

I don't really care about his voice, it's the music I'm interested in. I really have no interest in personality-driven music, which is why I hold R&B and other forms of pop music which glorify the singer but give short shrift to the musicians backing them, in great disdain.

Has this fucker ever performed at the Olympics?

You know come to think of it he probably has. Or at least at major events doing the national anthem.

Don't look down your nose at Brian McKnight. He's sensitive!

I'm not looking down at him - I'm sure he has a great voice - it's just that I don't care for singer-dominated music. And R&B warbling makes me nauseous.

Anywho, I guess you were more of a Sammy Hagar guy rather than a Diamond Dave guy.

Gary Cherone, actually (although I never heard VH III). Dave would be perfect for now, when VH should be playing Vegas 3 nights a week.

I can't believe I wasted my 13,000th post on David Lee Roth.

Time to post something more socially redeeming. Excuse me.

brian mcknight is an amazing musician. yes, an unbelievable singer, but he produces a lot and the lead single off his last cd he actually played guitar while singing (more of a rock vibe). dont hate

-zums

ps - and the fact that you are completely unaware of his existance just blows my mind - it's almost like "so this spears girl.... no not ringing a bell"

But where would I have heard of him, given the type of music he sings? Radio? No. MTV? Ha! At least with Britney Spears, she's all over the TV and has that opposite sex thing going for her. I'm no more likely to run into Brian McNight on my musical journey than Englebert Humperdink.

Now R Kelly, that guy I've heard of. I thought he was a comic though. Trapped in the Closet was high hilarity.

I just checked out McNight's AMG bio. Cool that he plays instruments, but I listened to a couple of clips, it's just not my cup of tea. And no, none of the songs that were listed as hits are even remotely familiar. I just travel in different musical circles.

Usually, for genres I don't dig, I have one favorite who fits the bill and I don't need anything more. For R&B/soul, it's David Ryan Harris. And that's only because I followed him from his rock roots to where he is these days.

He's in the Ruff Ryders with DMX!!!!

For anyone that has actually seen the guy, or heard his music... and know the Ruff Ryders & DMX... you'll find that funny, others won't have a clue what I'm talking about.
