Does Rashean Mathis smoke Crack?

"I think we showed we're one of the toughest teams in the league," Mathis said. "This is huge. This is a statement game around the league about us."

Hey, I'll give him props for taking it to the house, and winning the game. But damn, you squeak by a team missing its #1 WR and starting a QB that should sell insurance again......and its a statement game? A couple secure hand offs, and the game was over. Anyways, just struck me as funny.

Watch the rest of the season, and the Pro Bowl, a future star coming to an NFL stadium near you.

In all seriousness, Mathis is one of the best young CB's in the league. He's a solid cover guy and ball hawk. He'll make some pro bowls before he's through.

As for his comments, what do you expect him to say, "We beat an outmanned team, we really suck, but we did what we have to do"

It was a big win for Jax. They beat the Steelers on the road. They played the Colts tough on the road and they are the only team to beat the Bengals. They have a good shot at the playoffs now. I'd say he has reason to be excited.

That was their Superbowl. They won. Their season is complete.

Hopefully Big Ben will come back before the Bengal game next week so there won't be any BS excuses when the Steelers lose again.

"Maddox, who hadn't started a meaningful game since Week 2 of last season, played like the anti-Roethlisberger, throwing the three picks (Roethlisberger's thrown none), amassing a passer rating of 30.1 (Roethlisbergerger's rating is a league-best 123.8) and failing to win in his first start of the season (Roethlisberger is 16-1 as a regular-season starter)."

"Maddox had a chance to salvage a miserable day after Morgan returned the overtime kickoff 74 yards to the Jaguars 26. That alone might have been enough for kicker Jeff Reed to win the game, but two plays after tailback Willie Parker (55 yards on 21 carries) nearly lost a fumble, Maddox did Parker one better and lost the ball on third-and-11 from the Jaguars 27.

Maddox planned a pitch to Parker, but mishandled the snap, ran into fullback Dan Kreider, then kicked the loose ball backward, leading to a recovery by the Jaguars' Reggie Hayward. "

Yep, Steelers are the same team with or without Big Ben..

He was dressed yesterday and apparently could have played. I think after seeing this week, he'll be in for the Bengal game. I am actually looking forward to that one.
