Post The Board is hummin'

No, the board isn't in violation of any law in the Carolinas but we are setting records for numbers here. 36 I last checked.

Go us

We rock...

Of course, this is the only forum you can find that has little to none football discussion.

Actually we talk about international football more than American football, so it fits

The way I look at all of the off-topic posting is, this is like the discussion boards of many of my favorite rock bands between album releases/tours. There's not much going on, so until something happens, people will talk about other things that interest them.

Wait until TCY is released or a release date is known. We'll have plenty of topical discussion (assuming you count TCY/FOF as one topic!).

The board has always been this way. It just sort of developed its own personality and ended up sort of like a permanent chat room.

Again, I must ask, what will the board be called when TCY comes out? FOFCentral would seem sort of incorrect since TCY won't be allowed to have the FOF name...

Two suggestions:

The Most descriptive: Off Topic Central

The one that handles the role the best: Jim Gindin Central

We can't call it Solesmic Central since that company is now defunct.

Tone, what about a "name the board" contest? It'd be a good time to give away some of those SportPlanet freebies...

Good idea. Maybe we can wrap some other upcoming site decisions into the contest. I have TONS of games sitting around here -- not much text, but hell... In fact, Sega even sent over Phantasy Star Online yesterday. Funny considering I have NOTHING to do with that game and getting them to send NFL 2K1 for review was like pulling teeth. It's no wonder to me why that system failed. Marketing has no clue. (OT?)

I'm thinking we have to decide where this site goes next, what new forums get setup (TextSims.com), etc... lemme think.

'mckerney's kingdom' or something like that would be a good name for the board. Could also go with 'CarnDawg and his Worshipers' or something like that. Maybe even 'WigWorld'.

Though if we wanted to increase site traffic, we could always go with the simple name of 'Free Porn'.

Goin' old school.

Even six years later, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Who is TheRoyalOne and why is his name in smaller, non-bold font? Why no post count?

Six years later, if Tony were still around I'm certain he'd be amused to know that 2K Sports - no longer a part of Sega - is still eminently bizarre when it comes to acquiring product.

Couldn't get NHL 2k7 from them, but they'll send me MLB 2k7 just for taking part in a press conference call on Thursday. Okay!

It occurs to me, if you post every time you view the thread, wouldn't that be an endless cycle, since after posting, you'd add another view automatically as you got pulled back to the thread?

I guess the rule needs to be that you must post on any self-directed viewing of the thread, which then would leave out the indirect viewings such as the situation you mention above.

In a couple of days they're gonna take me away, when the press lets the story leak. Now when the radical breach comes to get me released it will appear on the cover of Newsweek.

And I'm on my way... I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way- Takin' my time, but I don't know where.

But yeah, thats pretty much where I've been.
