New Arena Viewer

I guess that the old one was just too corny...

10/17/2005 New Arena Viewer
Today we release a new version of the Arena Viewer. Where the old Viewer only let you choose between two fixed designs, the new Viewer lets you build and configure you own design with a multitude of building blocks. You can see an example here.
We want to thank our user Oxidus, who made the new version.

yeah, this is how it should have been done the first time. this one way better. not that anyone looks at your arena, but its fun to play with at least.

now if they would just let you do something like this for our uniforms

I'm blinded for LIFE!

Ardent's is pretty much an eyesore too, but not to the same degree.

BZH's arena looks pretty sweet, but there is definitely some funkiness going on out there.

I live the green and purple of the new Hippodrome.

BZH- yours looks great. Tho I was wondering- you've got this little splash of orange on one of the entrrances- was that intentional?

I can't decide whether or not I want to have the seats all one color or mix it up.

Just figured I'd post a couple from people bragging in this thread to give others ideas. If anyone wants theirs taken down, just post and I'll get rid of it.

What, SI? No picture of the Packer's stadium?

Just kidding, my arena is barely big enough to have the smallest stands go all the way around. That and since it is so small, I don't get to access the cool roof options. Upgrading my arena is on my list of things to do here shortly.

I like it with the roof. If you want it somewhat different, you can always use the same style roof but that is slightly see-through.

Quick question - did you have the seating arrangement different yesterday? I saw it, but for some reason now it doesn't look the same.

Is is the third rendition.

The first time I did it I had a horse shoe with small sections behind the far goal for visitors fans. The seats were all red except for teh visitors section which was all black. I then had the roof on half the stadium.

The second rendition had the seats at the center of the field on both sides as the low section and all the other sections were two tiered. All the seats were red and only the center field section had roofs on them.

I like the second one alot but I realized that there was unbstructed views for some fans due to the roof I provided for teh rich people so I had to change it. I also missed the idea of a visitors section.

I like this current one because the visitor's section is seperate and the kind of have bad seats if they are in the corner, and almost feel like the actually aren't at the game.

What's with the green brick? It doesn't seem to work with the dark colors you're using

It's the same color as the green section for the visting seats. For whatever reason it doesn't come out the same in brick form. Dark Green is my alternate jersey color.

Yeah- I dislike that you can't get dark bricks so I went with red brick since it seems more realistic.

I didn't quite notice how mean you were to the visitors until I started looking at that silly little section you put them in.

You have to create a screenshot and host it somewhere. Otherwise, the best you can do is a link like this:

The worst thing for them though is that my stadium only seats 74,800 but the capacity is 75,000 so I have 200 of standing room in that gray area right behind them, those people love to heckle

would you be more impressed if i asked if there was a Frank Bennedetto Memorial Popcorn Vending Stand. Or what security measures is the stadium taking to prevent future invasions by the Homestarmy

10/20/2005 Hippodrome Gets Facelift

With the new Arena Viewer, the Hippodrome has gotten a facelift. Houstonians are invited to check it out at an Open House this Friday or for the Hippos-Enforcers game on Sunday.

Fan reactions have been mixed:
"I like the classic brick- it barely clashes with the rest of the stadium"
"Yay! Now no one will notice the ugly people"
"Purple is not a good stadium roof color"
"Has all the Hippos colors! I like it. Now where's my seeing eye dog"
"Wow. that's uglier than my mule Hortense"

"Puke Green" roof, very distracting for visiting teams, could be voted as "most hideous".

If you also notice, field looks very bright, other teams WILL be in a daze.

odd how it's flush on the sides, but not on the ends with uniformity.
