Somewhere stored away I have one of those custom G.I. Joes that you could order once upon a time. Always thought that was the coolest toy ever.

Tucked away in my mother's attic is a large box containing the USS Flag, the holy grail of vehicles for 3 1/2 inch action figures. My son is one year old. It's going to be a few years, but I'm counting down the days until he gets a 7-foot aircraft carrier.

As a note, Legos are about $6 per pound... More or less depending on if they were parts of sets and you have the corresponding minifigs or not. (I have about 120+ lbs of legos in my basement in a metal trashcan.. my kids are going to have fun...

If you have any of the mid 80s Knights/Castle stuff.. separate it.. you can get a decent price for that.

I've debated and the USS Flag is the best, followed closely by the GI Joe Spaceship

Hey did you post this up on ebay? I really want to check it out. My son is getting close to the right age, and I can't seem to find any of my old figures at my parents, even though they swear they put them up. Heck, if you haven't ebay'ed them yet, send me an email to david_r AT mindless.com

I don't think any of my GI-Joe's survived the BB-gun/firecracker years...

2 monorails? these still boxed? I think I've seen the monorail set go for $200+. (Same for the castle...)

But, even the individual monorail parts (if you don't have the box) can net you something.

My parents decided to bring me all my childhood toys (GI Joes, Star Wars, WWF) from the attic of their house on their last visit. They said it was so I could share them with my boys when they get old enough, but I know it was just because they wanted to get rid of the clutter.

I was kind of pumped thinking I could pass them on until I opened the tub and realized that I had left the figures in horrible shape. Most of them were missing limbs, or their paint had faded so they now looked like they were nude.

It must have been an evil plot perpetrated by Cobra Commander and Darth Vader!
