The crowd at the stadium makes me think it's a Braves playoff game.

Are they going to have to knock down Busch Stadium before they finish the new place? Man, those look close together.

Oh, and go Astros.

It's a good thing that picture's not too big. Otherwise it might not fit on my screen.

Yeah, the wrecking crews are waiting for the last game in Busch Stadium to start demolishing it. There was a note in one of those articles about how Pujols hit such a dramatic home run that the demolition crews would have to wait another day.

Yeah, I knew someone would call me on that...and normally I'd be saying the same thing, but I figured the scope of the picture made it worth it this one time.

I finally saw the shot of the left field flag pole for the new stadium inside Busch last night. Neat touch.

I realize this will betray my hatred for all things Cardinals-related, but I just about got sick last night when they started gushing about the "history" of Busch Stadium. Stadiums with history aren't demolished after 40 years to build a new stadium on the same site. Cookie-cutter pieces of crap are though. Busch, Riverfront, Three Rivers and a couple of others of those cookie-cutter multiplex attrocities have all the history of a trash dump. Good riddance.

I haven't been to Busch Stadium in 20 years, but my understanding that aside from the fact that the sight lines still sucked they did a nice job of fixing up the place in the last 10 years, from cleaning up the concourses, taking out the artificial turf and making it more fan-friendly.

Career tip: never become a historian.

So what makes a stadium with history?
