He finally did it!
My 3 year old finally started to wipe him self! Woo Hoo! I don't know what accomplishment this week is better, the baby getting off of formula and drinking milk or this!
OK, I know those of you without kids won't really get this, but the parents out there understand what I am talking about, right? |

HOrray!
My 3 year old never wanted us to wipe him, he always wanted to do it himself. He doesn't always get it good, so we got him these 'wet wipe' things that are flushing safe and that works better. Just FYI there. Nothing like finding the brown streak in the bath tub from poor wiping.

That's great, but expect to have the toilet clogged a few times. Happened with every kid we had.

LOL! I drilled it into my son from the time he was potty trained that you can go far with two squares. So every time I am on the can, he comes in and tells me, "Two squares daddy, two squares!"

Reminds me of the little kid in Big Daddy. "But I wipe my own ass!".

My wife wants to start toilet training the kid in the next couple of months. I'm dreading this. I think I'd rather change diapers until he's in junior high. Cats are so much easier.

The big thing is training yourself to put the kid on the potty throughout the day. The other leap of faith is letting him/her go without a diaper. Sure, you need to clean up a couple of times, but it is great once they start using the can. EDIT: The only problem is when boys decide trying to write with the magic wand! Holy cow. I'm going to be changing diapers until he's 3? I did not sign up for that.

Unless you're trying to get them into daycare or something that requires them to be "potty-trained" first, there is no need to force them to do it. Show them what it is all about and they will get it. They won't go their whole life without being able to use a toilet just because they aren't doing by the age of 2.

Hey, I never thought of that! After the clogging incident, anytime she goes #2, she asks how much toilet paper to use and my answer is, "A lot less than when you clogged the toilet". It's worked but I like the 4 square limit. Thx, I'll start using that. Quote:
ROFL!! That's hysterical! It's amazing what kids can rememember huh? We teach our daughter that "stupid" is a bad word and once in a while I'll slip and she says, "Mommy, you should know that stupid is a bad word"... whoops. |

No, no, no, no! He was potty trained at 2 years. We've just had to help out with the clean up after a number 2. It's still far better than changing diapers. I can't wait until our youngest is out of diapers. |
