I really don't like Georgia...
but there is something exactly right about driving through South Georgia on a Saturday afternoon with Larry Munson broadcasting football on the radio.
That is all. |

I just don't like Georgia. So I agree with that part.

Well, I don't care either way about the school, but the state is the most boring place I've driven through not named Indiana.

Obviously you've never been through northern Alabama or southern Mississippi. (Driving to Memphis and/or driving to New Orleans are pretty high on my list of things-closest-to-Hell-on-earth -- not knocking the destinations, just the getting there).

Try driving through Utah, the salt flats are the single most mind numbingly boring region on this earth.

Nope, I've never even been in either of those states. Northern Georgia always seemed nice, and I kind of liked hitting the Swanee (or Suwannee I guess) River in south Georgia because it always meant I was almost to Florida. ![]()

Hahahaha, I had to do that when I move out here to Shitington, and it was mind-numbing. The Black Hills were nice though.

Ok, I consider myself an expert in this area about driving. Not sure why, but I do.
Anyways, I agree with I-90 from basically eastern Montana to Minnesota. Although just higher then that is 1-20 in western Texas, I-10 in western Texas, and I-27 between Lubbock and Amarillo (with U.S. 87 heading south out of Lubbock part of that). One more would be I-10 in Arizona from near California to Tucson. Ones that I personally can not stand, although some may not find them bad (since I think most would dislike the one above), are I-57 (Mt. Vernon to Chicago) and I-55 in Illinois, and I-70 in Illinois. With that said, I just don't like Georgia. I have no problem driving through it.

Having traveled on many of the interstates and back roads throughout the country, I actually like driving through the South. At least it's green except as typical, most of the views from the interstate are very uninteresting (which is why I love traveling the back roads). The worse stretches of interstates for me are West Texas and Nebraska, with South and North Dakota right behind. Kansas gets talked about a lot but I don't find that too bad (esp. having done it about 6-7 times). The only major stretch in the country I haven't traveled is I-80 through Nevada. I've been avoiding having to do that one but from what I've heard, it's not anywhere near as bad as West Texas. I love traveling through the desert, mountains (of course), rolling hills, all of the coastal routes and through green rural areas. What's left is West Texas, Nebraska and the Dakotas.

I'll agree with the I-70 through Kansas. Flat, brown, lifeless. Just horrible.
I can handle pretty much any drive as long as it is green, there are some trees and the road curves. Kansas pretty much fails on all three counts. I've made that drive 15-20 times and will likely make it again this December. Ick. |

The lakeshores are nice but for the most part anything inland north of Jackson is pretty boring, especially along the 127 corridor. The U.P. is interesting in a rustic sort of way. |

I like Georgia. It is one of the few states in the Eastern time zone I would consider relocating to.

I-80 through Nebraska.
So long and boring a drive it makes me want to slit my throat.
