Wellington Mara Dies

The 89 year old co-owner of the New York Giants passed away today. He had been severely ill over the weekend. He spent 80 years with the team in some capacity.

Well, at least he went out with a victory. Hope the excitement of the game didn't do him in.

BTW - he must have started with the franchise when he was 9???

Mara is survived by wife Ann, 11 children and 40 grandchildren.

he wasn't ALWAYS busy with the Giants.

I am a Jets fan, and I always thought he was a great guy for the sport.

Four kids is a pretty decent sized family. Just because you came from a large family doesn't mean you want a large family as well...
