I'm in East Brunswick for work and was looking for a place to hang out on Friday night (college bar). Any leads?
Thanks! Regards, Chas

Friday night is the game @ Louisville. There's going to be a big group at the Olive Branch (Sicard St., behind the College Ave gym) for the game, starting around 7:30. By the time the game's over, the older crowd will probably head out, and there will be some people leftover drinking for the night. I would suggest some other places though.
There's plenty of bars on Easton Ave with the typical college bar scene. I suggest The Knight Club or Olde Queens Tavern. You can also head down George St. where you'll find a slightly older crowd (young alumni) and some more expensive drinks and a possible cover charge. Let me know what kind of scene you're looking for, and I'll give you some more details. |

Go to Easton Ave. Much better bars than the Olive Branch. And Easton Ave as a whole host of resturants open till 4 AM.

you HAVE to eat a Fat Sandwich while you're in town. It's mandatory.

I just got home from driving on Easton Avenue. I had to take my girlfriend to one of the hospitals there and I was very surprised that I lived so close to Rutgers. Before anyone asks I only recently moved here from Georgia so I have an excuse.

Blasphemy! The Night was probably my favorite regular one. But as terrible as the situation was, the Fat Tsunami that was developed after what happened in Thailand was pure perfection. |

They're like a block from each other (well, 2-3 i guess), but easily walkable. Knight Club is gonna be way more loaded with drunk skanks, if that's what you're looking for. It's more of a "club" type place with a dance floor occuping the larger space in the back part of it. Fat Sandwiches can be had practically anywhere, but I'd suggest getting them from either the grease trucks, or if from a restaurant -from Jimmy's (which is like 1/2 a block from Old Queens). |
