FM/WSM2006 graphical upgrades and tweaks sharing
Okay, I have downloaded WSM2006 but I still want to play my FM2005 career before I start a serious career with it. This means I get to fool around with the '06 version and I want to make it fun too, and one way to do that is GRAPHICAL UPGRADES!!!
I'm thinking that we could use this thread to share what we all use and like for graphical upgrades, be it simple skins, game balls, 2d players, logos, kits, improvements to screens in game, etc... This could also be the place to share links to special sites with some of those graphical upgrades, watcha think? I'll start it with my first download, a kit of 15 different sets of game balls, available at sortitoutsi: http://www.sortitoutsi.net/index.php...le&fileid=5092 You can use only one at a time, but it gives you variety to switch everytime you fire up the game I'm using the Roteiro version which is very similar to the Chrome Pro ball that I'm using in FM2005 at the moment. They have the official EPL ball, the Spanish league ball, the Champions league ball and some others...I've also downloaded the first three independantly made skins, Aurora2006, Turnstyle2006, and E2: http://www.sortitoutsi.net/index.php...18&game=fm2006 I gotta say I like the Aurora the most, with one modification applied to it... I didn't like the colouring of the skills, but the FAQ put together by the author of that skin allowed me to modify the colour. As per the FAQ: Quote:
So I changed it so that in the green version, attributes at 1-5 are light green/light blue (depending), 6-10 are white, 11-15 are yellow (kind of very light orange), and 16+ are a dark orange color. These are the RGB values I used for the different skill levels green version "low attribute" red="150" green="225" blue="30" blue version "low attribute" red="170" green="200" blue="230" They are the same in the other three levels for either version: "normal attribute" red="255" green="255" blue="255" "good attribute" red="255" green="200" blue="65" "excellent attribute" red="245" green="95" blue="25" Prior to making these changes, I'd recommend taking a look to what the skin looks like, you may like it as it is, and backing up the original "fm colours.xml" file in case you want to go back... Anyway, let's share ![]() FM

Wow, thanks. I have been a big fan of the Aurora skin as well, but did not like the colors for the attributes. This makes it perfect.

okay, here's another one I'd never bothered getting in the past but that I find is an absolute must now: fixing the fake competition names.
Get this file here: http://www.sortitoutsi.net/index.php...le&fileid=5027 Unzip and paste it in the "/Data/Db/lnc/all" directory of your game and voila! You now have not simply the "Premier Division" in England, but it's now called the "Barclaycard Premiership". Also, it's not really the "League Cup", it's the "Carling Cup". Same with the "Euro Cup", properly called the "EUFA Cup" now, and I could go on and on... It also fixes Oliver Kahn of Germany... FM

Good call, Frogger!
I've been using the 05-06 Premiership ball. Maybe I'll try the one you're talking about. Haven't done the skins yet. Will check them out. ![]() |

some of them should work but they've posted big warnings regarding skins from 2005 possibly not loading with 2006, so I would probably not mix and match too much with skins at least... FM

Posted this in the big thread, but here will be better:
Awesome place to download most of the team and competition logos for FM, the guy made really nice logos rotating the original team ones. http://www.auxj85.dsl.pipex.com/index.html If the new logos don't show up, do the following: - Turn off skin cache in the preferences menu, select a different skin click confirm. Logos should show, if they do you can go back to your normal skin. If you don't want to change skins you can just restart FM. - Logos should work as long as they are within data\graphics\pictures folder, or within a subfolder of pictures i.e. pictures\logos\. - If you are adding logos for teams already on FM, make sure you delete the existing logos and config. (i.e. if you are installing new logos for all of england, delete the logos\clubs\england folder. - Have you turn on logos in the preferences menu, tick the show badges/logos option. |

thanks for reposting Icy. I remembered seeing your link and I started this new thread in order to have everything in one place and not lost in the middle of the 13 pasges and growing megathreads for FM2006...

I can see why you like Aurora, Frogger. Very clean looking. I'm thinking I like it. I'll just have to get used to it (like anything else new). The default background in the Aurora style is pretty much nice, too. Forgot to change the ball over to the Chrome, though. Will try that next.
I downloaded the EPL face pack from the site Icy linked to in the "first impression" thread [FM Britain]. I like it much better than the Arsenal one I downloaded from sortitoutsi. Cesc's picture made me think of Little Nicky [the Adam Sandler movie] too much in the old one. I like this one. |

Does anybody know if the FM 2006 facepacks/logos will work in WWSM 2006? Or what about the FM 2005 packs?

I'm still not into full '06 mode so this may be why, but I'll also need time to get used to the different look of Aurora. At first, I was thrown off with the player name in profile screen being to the side of the header and not dead center as it used to be with most basic FM skins. That and it may also be that I'm used to seeing positions with simple letters and now with '06, the names are in full... FM

Excellent. One final thing. Based on my internet research, I know there were licensing issues that prevented German/Holland national teams in FM 2005, and now FM 2006. I've seen the "fake.inc" update for 2005 floating round which fixes this (as well as renames Oliver Kahn and adds the official cup competition names). Does this file work on FM 2006 as well? Or is there a similar file for FM 2006. I've also heard about typing in a "German" or "Holland" command in the init.cfg file as a possibility. Anybody tried this yet? EDIT: Looks like I found an unofficial update for FM 2006 which does this (maybe not holland) at: hxxp://www.fm-base.co.uk/files/index.php?action=category&id=17 Hope it works with WWSM2006 Last edited by Vinatieri for Prez : 11-12-2005 at 01:16 AM. |

Well, I noticed Holland is back in the game, so that leaves out only Germany & Kahn. The command "German" doesn't work, so that leaves only an unofficial update.
I will see if that sortitoutsi.net file is the same I seem to have found at the site referenced in my last post. |

here's the real name fix:
http://www.thedugout.net/download.ph...2&cat=4&id=402 What you have is not correct.. it's deleting a bunch of .inc files in a data directory, and replacing them with one fake one

From SI Games board (NOT ENDORSED BY SI)
SI can't have the real german national team in the game out of the box. This is due legal issues (like Oliver Kahn is named Musterman). You can fix this by deleting a game folder named 'inc'. It would fix other issues such as French club not having their real name etc. FM2006 -> data -> db -> Inc Delete the Inc folder. (I did this by renaming it to __Inc and moved it out of the db folder. I don't know if you have to start a new game for it to work. I THINK there's a file you have to place there instead. Will investigate.

Thanks for all the help. Since I eventually wanted to manage Germany, this was a pretty important fix for me. Not only does it correct the players, but most importantly it actually allows you to manage the team (which you otherwise can't do).
I noticed that besides the Kahn and Germany fix, it renamed the different leagues to their sponsors and corrected the cup competition names, which is nice. The only thing it did not do was give the complete team names in France. I can live without that one. I noticed that same folder has a "france" and "nleague" files. I imagine there is another replacement file out there somewhere that will correct the french team names and open up the japanese league teams. By the way, I was a little leery with the llm file you suggested Foz, because the readme talked about being created in 2004 and said it corrected the Dutch team too (which is already ok in FM 2006). On the other hand, Sov's suggested file from Susie had the new date on it and the file name that was unzipped was identical to the original one that came within the game. I have WWSM, and so I can safely say that at least in the beginning, the update is compatible. Now I am off to load up some face packs for the premiership and a few others, and it's off to the races. By the way, I decided to forget about the arse command. I was worried there would be some stupid stuff happen that might detract from the realism as opposed to increasing it. Ok,
After doing some research on the net, I decided to screw around with some more of the lnc files. I simply deleted the "france.lnc" file (well I actually moved it to a different folder), and all the french teams names were properly added in. This worked even on the saved game I had. Give it a try. By opening the lnc files with notepad, you can actually see the changes that get made. For instance on the germany fix I used, there is a boatload of name changes for competitions that go along with it. You can also edit the commands right there in notepad if you want and then save. When I opened the "nleague.lnc" file it showed that China, Japan, and S. Korea national team controls are disabled (which is true in the game), and a ton of team, city, and stadium changes. I tried deleting the file, then I tried turning the disabling of the national team controls off, but none of that worked. So, don't quite know what is going on there. My guess is that WWSM simply didn't have that function in-game to even be corrected. But since I don't care about Japan league/national side, etc. I gonna stop there. |

fake.lnc is the only file that should be in your db/inc/all folder if you want it to work properly.

I'm tracking the development of two new skins, but nothing new for now. I will probably go after some picture/logo superpacks and I was intrigued by a sound file that I may be tempted to install...

hrm, okay, your reply made me understand why I felt I needed a "fake.lnc" for the real competition names! Here's the original "fake.lnc" file: Code:
That is the whole file... I assume that player_id #1277 is Oliver Kahn... Then look at the new "fake.lnc" that I downloaded (the first part of it): Code:
As I understand, it could simply have deleted these lines and we'd be okay with Oliver Kahn... then there are lines about Chinese names, then some other, then... Code:
and then a lot more... I want these real names in my competitions... no more EURO Cup and Euro Vase... ![]() FM

Yeah, Bea. Delete all the lnc files, but instead replace the Fake.lnc file with the one discussed above, and it will also change tournament and league names.

No - the name fix work with current careers as well, suddenly I saw my team compete in the Carling Cup instead of just the League Cup...

As 3ric said, I applied this fix to my current career in FM2005 a couple weeks and now we're competing in the Carling Cup (formerly known as the League Cup) and in the UEFA Cup (formerly known as EURO Cup)...
