Unprecedented?? (TCY related)
Despite the fact that nothing has been said or done yet along the lines of TCY with an update of some sort, I continue to play and enjoy this game more than any other.
In fact I just finished my 6th season at Ohio University and thanks to an 8-3 record and a bowl win over Syracuse (minor bowl), I managed to get 19 job offers with schools ranging from La. Lafayette all the way up to Utah, L.S.U. and Ohio State. Just out of curiousity and for anyone who actually wants to give thier own input, what's the most offers you've received at the end of a season? I'm not sure if 19 is some sort of record but when you figure it's about 1/6 of the schools out there it's not too shabby. GoBuckeyes |

That's way more than I've ever seen. It's been quite awhile but I want to say 11 was around the most I've seen.

On the real levels, I think I've topped that in S8 careers (with the A-10 and UMass) where I redshirted almost all my first recruiting class, then in year 3 went from like 3 wins to undefeated in the league and only loss coming in the bowl game when I finally played a decent team. I think I've also done it on the easy level, where I was just playing to rack up records and national championships, and would get at least 15 offers every year. So are you gonna stay and try for MAC dominance, or jump straight from Ohio U to The Ohio U

Try getting zero people to show up to one of your games. Now that's hard.

i can only imagine what the players must have felt like playing before a massive crowd like that.

I remember hearing about a conference tournament championship game back in the late eighties that was played before no crowd at all. Apparently there was a bad flu outbreak on campus and they didn't want a bunch of sick folks in the stands for the game. I think Siena University was involved, but that could be faulty memory...

It would have been even funnier if the game had been televised.

I've had offers from 31 teams...
....wait, that's FOF, not TCY. |
