PWA (Pro Wrestling Alliance) - Play By Mail Wrestling, anyone ever play?
Did anyone ever used to play this? My friend got me into it when I was in high school was really fun. You would send in your strategy for the month and any write ups you made. They would then send you a 10-12 page league sheet with write ups from other people, write ups they did themselves about the league and lots of other cool stuff. They had about 15-18 leagues and if you won belts you would be invited to a champions league to be in as well.
I guess they were based somewhere in Texas, after years of service they all the sudden dropped off the face of the Earth (this was back in 1995 or so).

Sounds like the precursor to an E-Fed, a bunch of which I participated in back in like 99/00. Hell, participated...I used to DOMINATE

Back when I was in Junior High I was big into e-feds... had around 5-6 chracters in a couple of feds, fun times. I also ran a local e-fed with a friend... it got pretty big, so much so that most people in my grade read the results every week.
I also co-wrote a chracter in a fed (I can't remember the name) that was located at www.fantasywrestling.com , which was one of the biggers feds around.

I was waaaay too into the e-fed thing from 96-00. Played in the IIWF which probably was the most respected e-fed out there from 96-98. Then I ran my own fed for almost 2 years. Very addictive, I couldn't stop thinking about what angles I could get my character into, and what kind of interviews he would give in order to get a better push.

I was big into e-feds back in the late 90's too. I used to follow the IIWF for a bit.
I also played a PBM game back in the day, but I didn't play PWA, I played in the IWA and it seems (after a quick google search) that they are still around. hxxp://www.playiwa.com/join/join1.htm My biggest highlight was winning a league championship 2 months in a row and I got a plaque for it. I don't think I have it anymore. |

I used to have a boss who was really into this when I was a teenager working at the mall. This is funny...I totally forgot about this stuff.
