What's everyone looking at?

I'm thinking about going for the Kodak 5.0 GP camera for $130 but haven't decided yet.

I think I did one at Media Play years and years ago, it was cool for a day. The day after xmas was actually worse IMO.

The Kodak camera at BB is lookin kinda good to me at the moment

what do you think of this deal? It's $199 from 5am to 11am. It doesn't say anything about an operating system though.

A quick search says that price is after rebate and only if you sign up for 12 months of AOL.

there's an EMachine at BB for $150 w/monitor (i know you don't need one). It's an instant rebate (here in ny at least) so no shitty forms

watch out for the CC one's, I think those are the ones that all have a 12 month committment from AOL in order to get a big gift card I think.

Yeah, the laptop for $200 we have at CC is $350 instant savings and then the rest of the money off is if you sign up for a year of AOL. The laptop isn't good anyway.

Define.........not good. It has 512mb of ram, a 60 gb hard drive, cd rw/dvd drive, and a 1.5 ghz processor. Does it come with an operating system? If it'll run DVD's and run games like ootp and fof........I might go for it.

If you can live with the older processor, then go for it. Comes with XP Home. Should be good enough to run text sims, browse the 'net and such. If that's all you're using it for you'll be fine.

There will be a Targus laptop essentials kit on sale for $20 tomm. also, comes with a laptop bag, a mouse and some other stuff, it's usually $70.

Edit: It's definitely a better laptop than the one for $380 at Best Buy.

My store opens at 5, I go in at 4, and we'll be handing the vouchers out then to the people waiting. There will be the voucher for the laptops, the desktops, the TV's, the cameras/camcorders, and the MP3 players. No one can just walk in the store and buy one of the voucher items without a voucher.

There will also be designated registers to pay for the voucher items in their respective departments. Anyone that wants to buy just random stuff needs to pay at the front registers.

I did this one year at Toys 'R' Us and the following year at Best Buy. The Toys 'R' Us people were probably a little better behaved. The customers at Best Buy weren't terrible (see:only 1 fistfight), either

I'm getting the portable DVD players at CC. The ones at BB are cheaper by about $6, but there's less of a mail in rebate at CC.

Alright, heading out to the "Worlds Worst Wal-Mart" If I have to stand in line for too long, ill just stop and get breakfast and go home. WalMart has this Dora TV/DVD player bundle for 100 that I kind of want to pick up for my daughter.

Nah, people went apeshit for the Laptops and cameras and gameboys....I got a Dora TV at first, but when i figured out where the Cabbage patch dolls were, I also saw the Spongebob tv's, so i picked up one of those instead. Had to smack a few people with the carts to get through gaps, but overall it wasnt too bad. All the fat chicks were out in full force though. Seriously, this walmart i went to is like probably the worst one in the chain...super small, and the aisles are very close to each other.

My wife picked up a $129 jacket at J.C. Penny for $30 too.

Edit--Oh, and the lines at Circuit City were horrible. I waited in line for 45 minutes to checkout and there were only 7 people in front of me.

Well........i got to CC at 4 am, and was about 350th in line for the vouchers. So needless to say no $199 laptop for me. I went to office depot at 4:15 and was first in line, and got this pretty good toshiba laptop I'm on now for $499. I'll have to upgrade the ram though, it only came with 256. CC was a freaking zoo.

I was at Radio Shack at 6:30 (overslept because daughter is sick with cold and wouldn't fall asleep until around 4:00 a.m.). Missed out on the $10 bluetooth headset, but picked up a couple of moddable rc cars for my 14 year old for $25 each (down from $50).

Stopped at Wal-Mart on my way home to see if they had any of the Lexmark all-in-one printers left. They did (got the last one, w00t!), and was also able to pick up a few toys for the five year old.

Pleased with my haul, although I don't think I'll do this again next year.

Yeah, Lexmarks suck. My All-in-1 just completely crapped out on me a couple of weeks ago and customer service basically told me I was screwed since the 1-year warranty had passed.

Lasted less than 18 months and I never even got to replacing the cartridges. Did some research and found out that it's a pretty common deal with the Lexmarks. They just aren't dependable. Hopefully you didn't pay more than 50 dollars.

Edit: Just checked out WM's website. 40 dollars ain't so bad. Just don't expect it to last long.

Actually our last Lexmark has lasted for three years without any problems. It won't work with Windows XP for some reason, however, leading me to buy this one. And yeah, less than $40 bucks... even if it craps out in a year that's worth it to me.

PIcked up a 200 GB Hardrive, a Super G Wireless Router And Notebook Card, and a pack DVD-R's for about 40 bucks after rebate - I love shopping online.

Even at fatwallet, there wasn't too much enthusiasm about the deals this week - pretty pathetic, unless you wanted to stand for 10 hours for a laptop.

200gb Western Digital HD for 60 bucks. Got an enclosure for it too, for 40 (paid full retail to get it today). And now the fucking enclosure won't open, the screw head is completely stripped after I've tried for 2 hours to get it out. I'm going to have to return it tomorrow and they damn well better let me exchange it!! DAMNIT!

My wife went out with some relatives at 5:30, but I waited 'til she got home at 9:00, then we both went out. We got everything we were looking for (at least on our trip ... don't know about her morning trip): poker chips, a couple of outdoor canopies with free chairs, a small safe for important documents, a birdfeeder, and a cookware set. We went to three stores, and the longest wait in the checkout line was 2 minutes. Not too bad.

Of course, if WalMart actually sold the HP laptop in Wisconsin for under $400 like it seemed to in most places, I might have been camping out. It was over $600 here!!! Oh well.

To add to the Lexmark thing, and I know this is anecdotal evidence so it doesn't count for much, my multifunction has lasted over 2 years *knock on wood* with nary a problem except that it will occasionally grab a couple of extra pieces of paper into the feeder when it's getting low (and thus not enough pressure on the sensor).

And, of course, the key rule with online evaluation. For every 10 people who have one that works, 1 will post about it. But for every 1 person who has an item break down, they'll post about it 10 places

Those people at fat wallet bitch when stores won't honor clearly crooked deals that they try to scam so I'm not sure what that's worth ("these 5 coupons don't say they can't explicitly be used together! i'll complain to a CSR until it works!"

As I said earlier in the thread, I have no idea why a place goes nuts with lots of super deals as there are already going to be a lot of people at their story regardless and those crazy deals just tend to attract the ebay'ing crowd.

Pretty good haul for me and my dad. We did our Fry's thing, and got our 'computers to sell to stupid people for insane markup'. We should clear around $200 profit each on them. We also got some cheap 1gb MP3 players for $50, a 1gb pny usb drive, some free-after-rebate printers to go with the computers, and I got a Audigy 2 soundcard with 5 full games for $20. A few other misc. stuff and we had a good morning.

The double-teaming really worked. We waited in line outside for two hours, I got our place and my dad got some food for us. Then when the line started moving towards the door, my dad cleaned up our junk and put up our chairs while I kept up with the line. Inside, he got in the line for the computers while I roamed the store for our non-line items. After we got our computers and printers, he went and got in the check out line, and we swapped off roaming the store for other deals. 2 hours in line before opening, and 2 in the store, all in all not bad at all.

I got off a plane from San Diego at 8:30 this morning. By 9:30, I was on my way to CC. No laptops left (surprise surprise), but I did find "King Kong Lives" for $6.99. Off to Fry's. I found a 512MB PNY USB drive for $20, and a 1GB PNY USB drive for $35. Saved nearly $100 on the pair. The line took nearly 90 minutes to navigate through. Than, over to Walmart where I picked up a 6 1/2 foot prelighted tree for $30. I got nothing that I will give away as a present, but it was fruitful nonetheless.

I bought a 12 quart stockpot at Bed Bath and Beyond so I could make an extra large batch of chili. I purchased it at like 2 p.m.

If I had gone out in the morning like some of you women, I would have probably knocked someone's teeth out. I have little to no patience and a temper like a hungry dingo.
