NFL Week 13

This is going to be started a day early. I had a freakin' dream that we lost to Pittsburgh tomorrow. But nonetheless, it is a huge game, something we need to do is get over the hump of beating the Steelers. Also, it'd be our first winning season since 1990 if we get #9 Sunday.

Tidbit from ESPN: "Johnson suggested this week that, if he scores on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a key AFC North matchup, his choreographed celebration will be his best ever. This week, Johnson wore a Terrible Towel as a bib while eating lunch in the locker room, a clear jab at the Steelers."

That's just.. fantastic. Go Bengals.

If the Bengals want to make a statement, this is the game to do it in, with a win this sumday they would take what is essentially a 3 game lead in the division due to the split with pitt and in the end probably having a better divisional record. With 4 games left it would all but assure Cincinnati of our first division title in 15 years and a home game in our first game of the post season. It would also keep them in the running for a first round bye should Denver stumble along the way.

GO BENGALS! I BELIEVE! IN MARVIN WE TRUST!

Three very important football games tomorrow.

1) Dallas vs. NY Giants

Winner takes a one game lead in the division. Cowboys would also clinch the tiebreaker, making it a two game lead with 4 games left. Must win for the Giants.

2) Cincy at Pittsburgh

This would tie up the division, but Pittsburgh holds the tiebreaker. The scary thing about the AFC is you could lose this game and be in danger of missing the playoffs. Cincy also has to have this win if they have any hopes of a first round bye.

3) Denver at KC

Simply put, Denver wins this game, they will win the AFC west. No, it isn't a lock they would do it. The Chargers would still be 2 back with 4 to play. Thing is, Denver has Baltimore, Buffalo and Oakland on the schedule before they play SD. SD has road games in Indy and KC left. Denver has the favorable schedule if they get by this game.

For KC, this isn't as much about the division as it is the playoffs. They finish with Dallas and the Giants on the road and SD and Cincy at home. That's brutal. That looks more like 1-3 than 3-1. They lose the game to Denver, it's probably over.

CATCH the ball Desmond Clark.

Defense gives the offense a gift (okay, the Packers punter gives the Bears a gift)....Clark can't catch, balls goes up...pick.

Someone want to tell me what the Giants are doing? 3rd and 12, Bledsoe throws a 7 yard route to Witten. He drops the ball.

Not one, but two Giants players take two full steps and nail Witten right in front of the official. Then they get pissed at the flag. Ummm guys, just because he isn't a QB doesn't mean you can take full runs and hit him for the hell of it.

Giants playing dumb again today, game scoreless.

Pitt up 7-0 on the Bengals
Atlanta/Carolina scoreless, both offenses look clueless right now. Peppers and Rossum are both hurt.
Giants/Cowboys scoreless.

Yeah, these guys are horrible now. Atlanta can't run on Carolina. I think they need to go down the field.

As I type that, Vick and Crumpler hook up on a sweet play down the field. What a pass and catch that was.

Couldn't go the distance, but the Birds move from under the shadow of their own goalpost around 75 yards and kick a FG. 3-0. The way the offenses have looked up to now, that might stand up.

Well, the Panthers woke up. Now we have ourselves a football game.

edit: I didn't mean to imply the Falcons were dominating. Just saying now that the offenses are plyaing things may get interesting.

I think in this game, the Falcons would be better served by playing Duckett more early on in the game (instead of what they usually do, use Duckett most of the time in the 2nd half).

I've can only think of a few cases I've ever lost more respect for a player than Garcia this week. His "everyone knows what the situation is and what it should be" comment was both egotistical and idiotic at the same time.

Hey Jeff, hate to break the news to you, but you haven't exactly been a savior this year and you weren't last year with Cleveland either. Get a grip.

It's great to see people like that falling on their faces. I hope he goes 3-40 today.
